There's an oft-quoted stat/urban myth that our best selling replica shirt ever was the striped one from the mid-90s.

And that one, along with it's green/black away cousin was a true abomination on every possible level IMHO

I got my dates wrong. The one that's apparently our best seller was the 1999/2000 kit.

ah right, not a bad one that. WAY better than that Asics monstrosity i was thinking of

I preferred the Asics one myself. The stripes were too thick on the 99/00 one.

I parted with my £10 to get the Reebok stripes with Wembley 2000 embroidered on to help shift them.  It's the last replica shirt I bought, which perhaps indicates both my age and the fact that it's not necessarily how the claret and blue is incorporated into the design, but the occasion it represents.

Well at least we’re not Wigan:

What’s wrong with that kit? Looks ok to me.

That looks like the kind of shirt indoor five a side teams would wear.

Or the one the kid in the shop who sells them would be wearing as he has no choice.

Or in fact the sort of top DW Fitness hands out as a joining gift to new members.

Or the sort of derided, mocked "who-are-yous" who turn up at Villa Park, surprise the home support with their organisation and desire, and return back up the M6 with 3 points.

It's a shirt from when they were in the 3rd division in the 90s.

Apart from the sponsor logo it looks very nice.

It's a bit Aquafresh. Hope the Wigan players all brush their teeth properly.

The new kit is nice not that I will be buying it or anything like that I just think it's the shirts would drape well on the shoulders of the team when the Championship trophy is paraded at villa Park.

Much as I'm an old traditionalist and would like blue sleeves on our home shirt, I do think the away one looks really good.
