It's a grower. My first reaction was no, but viewing it from more of a side angle with the shorts and socks I like it more.

I also get the nod to the past. Just a pity that the era chosen was the last hurrah and disbanding of a great team. If he'd instead taken the 81-83 Le Coq kit as the template, I'd imagine this thread would now be a love-in

£50 for the home shirt.

Remind me, what are the benefits for fans we were promised as part of this deal?

I checked earlier and it is 75€ so you're already making a saving!

$120 aud which is about £65 so be glad it's only £50.

Still not keen. Wonder how much of the positive reaction has been because it's been designed by a fan?

Glad I bought my boy last year’s kit. Aston Villa play in claret shirts with blue sleeves. You can fuck about with daft collars and bits of crappy trim if you have to as long as it’s a proper claret with light blue sleeves. Can’t believe this was designed by a Villa fan.

The problem I have is that we could move to some idetikit stadium out by the NEC and it looks like most people would buy into it.
It a nice modern design, I don’t see what people are complaining about, we still play in the midlands. As long as there is a pop corn shop and jester hat store.

The shirt is so bad it's got me and Chicago agreeing with each other! 😂

Unless he's willing to drop three divisions and play his football in Cumbernauld, he's no hero of mine.

I don't think any Scotland player of the last twenty years qualifies as a hero. 😢

The colours are an improvement on last years. Aside from that it's not a proper Villa home shirt .I appreciate that for many  that doesn't matter but for me it does. Particularly as tradition is likely to be all we will (or should ) have to cling to over the  coming years .

On the other hand  I can see the reasoning , with the  club on it's knees and this being our 22nd home shirt since 1997.

Don't tell him I said that, though... he has the air of a psychopath.

Don't tell him I said that, either 😨

Meh... The shade of claret's good, the lighter red stripes are superfluous, but why not? However: there's not enough blue and the logical place for that would be the sleeves. All in all, it's as unbalanced as the badge.

Right now we could play in royal blue and I would still only register a slight disgust.  Least of our worries as at 10/07/2018.
