Surely with the success of the new kits in both sales and feedback terms we'll be sticking with Luke ?

Fingers crossed.

Fair to say supply was a problem but, yes, I agree.

From 3 years ago ..

Adidas, the German sports apparel giant ends a very successful year by the news of Nassef Sawiris owning 6% of its shares, which makes him its biggest investor.

The Egyptian billionaire whose net worth is estimated by $5.1 billion, is also the third-largest shareholder in Swiss cement maker LarfargeHolcim Ltd., as well as the biggest investor in Dutch fertilizer company OCI N.V.

Sawiris apparently made a smart decision with this move. After a rough year in 2014, when Adidas's stock fell by 38% on scrapped financial goals and it suffered market share losses to Nike Inc., the company was able to turn things around this year. Its stocks have witnessed 41% rise and it's now the second-best performing company in Germany’s DAX index.

Personally i can't think of any reason other than the above why we'd go back down that old route again. Would be very interested to see how the sales/income figures from merch sales this season compare to previous ones

I don't really know how these things work but could Luke design the kit and Adidas make it?

As I understand it “kit deals”. Say if Adidas came in with a £5m deal. We would get £5m and that’s it, it doesn’t matter if we sell 1 shirt or 50,000. With the Luke deal at the moment the club, alongside Fanatics, control everything from design, manufacture and retail. Fanatics run the shop and pay the staff. With the popularity of the Luke gear this season I personally think it would be a wrong move to jump back to a traditional supplier. Firstly look how popular the Luke kit has been with sales reaching I believe record figures this season. This has led to more money going back into the club because they are owning the process. Look at the Under Armour fiasco and that’s just what the supporter saw, there were plenty of things not happening in the background.

I'd rather we had a designer that knows that Villa play in claret AND blue not just one or the other. Luke can fuck off to Tynecastle.

Can’t the current kit only be bought directly from the club/Fanatics though? If so, that needs changing, because my experiences of dealing with them has been shite.

I think they have were totally overwhelmed on just how popular the range was/is. They could only take production figures from orevious years and as we have seen they have shattered their own expectations. I’m sure if Luke do produce the kit next season then they and Fanatics will be better prepared.

My 3 and a half year old has become Villa mad these past 2 months. I've not been able to get him a shirt, although he wears a club polo.as often as he can.

I hope we go with somebody who can meet demand next year. I want them to take my money.

Amazing how we've been left in the dust of so many other clubs (i know Man City leave almost everyone in their wake, but really, it feels like we're stuck in some sort of time warp).

Having a kit manufacturer who could:

1. Produce stuff people want to buy
2. Actually make it possible for people to buy the stuff

strikes me as an achievable next step.
