Huh? If anything we're too individual-y compared to teams of lesser quality. One of the reasons we'll probably be stuck down here for another year, we don't work hard enough for each other.

This is the PFA Championship team of the year as voted for by players I assume - no Villa representation :

Ruddy

Fredericks
Bamba
Boly
Sesseignon

Maddison
Cairney
Neves

Reid
Vydra
Clarke

Chester should be on that team anyway, has Ruddy been better than Johnstone?  Grealish maybe missed too many games.

Well Cardiff have conceded five fewer goals than us and Wolves have conceded four fewer goals so having their best defenders ahead of ours isn't unreasonable.

Yes, Ruddy has been better than Johnstone.

Probably, and also if he's in the midfield three he's not been better than the three that are there instead of him.

I would personally have Chester ahead of Bamba, but not too much else to argue with in the defence and midfield selections (though I think Grealish probably would have been in if he'd played a full season).  The front three looks a bit weak though

Footballers aren't normally known for their nuance, and haven't they just voted for the three strikers who scored the most goals?

It's what Neil Warnock would do along with the speel about how everyone hates us etc etc. It's all part of Warnocks detestable raison d'etre. It just might work!

Yeah but then we'd have no players as they'd have all fucked off home as they weren't playing.

I don't think Wolves will be buying any of ours.

No chance. He'd not get into their reserves next season.

That thought did cross my mind Dave and I'm guessing there is a shortlist of some sort that is passed around otherwise it would take a lot of sorting.  Surprised Jota from Wolves didn't get in, but two of the best wide forwards I have seen against us this season have been Josh Murphy at Norwich and Jarrod Bowen at Hull.

James Maddison of Norwich was the surprise name for me. He had been flying under my radar but apparently he has scored 14 goals from midfield this season.
