It makes me feel exactly twice as old as I was then (give or take a few months). I was also a month away from going to live abroad.

Well if you went to Wembley in '77 (Like me) then pretty old!

Went on to Hillsborough 1st replay, and couldn't afford to go to OT which was a body blow at 16!

I was cleaning out my memento box the other day and came across my tickets for the first and second replays, I have no idea what happened to the Wembley ticket.  I also have the train tickets.

I like to keep the tickets/stubs of any match or gig that I go to.  I've got lots.   :(

Probably my favourite day as a Villa fan, as I was too young in 1982. I think for a generation of Villa fans this was it.

I wasn't at Highbury so my top three I was at would be Rotterdam, Wembley '94 and Swindon. Honourable mention for the Super Cup victory over Barcelona too. I wasn't at Wembley in '96 as I was living abroad.

It must be 24 years today then that the report in Today was headlined as 'Dreamwreckers'. Dalian running towards us tongue out and Neil Cox screaming on the final whistle are as clear in my head now as they were then.

One fantastic day. We were underdogs but you knew we were going to ,at least, make a fight of it. Graham Fenton's finest hour (and a half). To top it off for us, because of a drunken mate , who we were cussing when he didn't make it back to the minibus, we got to meet the team plus Big Ron , Jim Barron and the cup on the Wembley car park after the game. Claret and Blue heaven!

I seem to remember our form was ropey going into the game. I think we drew and lost home games against Man City and Oldham who were both struggling. For some reason our poor league form convinced me we would turn it on in the cup final. Which to be fair, at the time was a big victory for optimism over logic.

For me the League Cup final  at OT was the greatest Villa I have been too in my lifetime - in my head  beats Highbury, Rotterdam - AVFC Aston Villa are Magic

Wonderful day. Unforgettable.

Landed in Victoria at 06:00. Got the last coach back from Victoria. Totally shit faced after a post match drink in a pub in Harlesden (what a fucking dump)

I have vague memories of a French TV crew asking a group of Villa fans for their opinions on Cantona before the game. You can guess how that went. I was in a group close to them so I may or may not have made a brief background appearance on French TV but I will never know for sure.
