Good man, Grecian.
Hadn't struck me before but he played and managed us, QPR and Derby. Are there any other people who have both played and managed for three or more of the same clubs?

Technically Plymouth as well, so four.

He started his managerial career at Portsmouth. Meaningless point and trivia but the he Chennaiyin club colours and badge shares some similarities with the Portsmouth badge.

Never think of anything but positives when JG was with us as both coach and Manager. Always felt he was badly let down by Collymore  at the time.

I don't blame Gregory for this, but it was during his spell I started to really dislike the Premier League. I was hardly a fan before, but it was then it became apparent to me we weren't going to compete at the very top. Still, he scored twice in my first ever Villa game so that'll always be my abiding memory of him. Glad he's won a pot.

I liked John Gregory. He had a real enthusiasm for the role and seemed genuinely chuffed to be Villa manager.

He is looking old these days isnt he, them 4 years at the helm for us must have took its toll.

He had a heart bypass when he left Crawley in 2014.

He is in his 60s now.

He actually looks like the head of an upper-class Indian family from a Bollywood blockbuster (albeit a somewhat paler version) - he is even wearing Indian type garb too.

Love the man

Love it, if only he had been a bit more adventurous in the Final.
