19 wins and still eleven to go... exciting times. We havent won that many league games in a season since 1992-93.

I’ve said all season that we would have been where a Sunderland are if we were not taken over after relegation. Today really hits home how scary that would have been.

only saw first half but it was enough, very sad to see the state Sunderland are in.

nice handy game pre Wolves

Another good win. Well done. I hope the dubious goals panel give the oggie to Hourihane.

Wasn't sure whether to laugh at or feel sorry for Sunderland and then saw O'Shea smiling after the 2nd goal went in. As bad if not worse than Micah et al. They deserve to go down and down and down.

It's coming down to a stare competition , whichever team blinks first is going to be a goner.

Derby have gone 3 more to go

I reckon the table tonight is the top 6 come the end of the season (with the order to be decided).  I think Boro will snatch 5th and Derby will hang on to scrape a play off spot but the top 4 is looking very tight.  A win at the weekend would be huge for us and would open up both automatic spots nicely (especially if Wolves drop points tomorrow).  I don't like the gap to Cardiff though, the game agianst them is, in my opinion, the first genuine must win of the season.

No wonder the Sunderland fans were so resigned, they were absolutely crap.

We played adequately, we only needed to.

A bit more professionalism in front of goal wouldn't have gone amiss but we did what we needed to.

Well done Villa, mom Snodgrass

I like Sunderland. Hope they stop up. Doubt it, though.

Comfortable win without getting out of second gear. Sunderland are dreadful and it's always sad to see such a big ground so empty, especially as it could have been us.

Huge game now on Saturday, hopefully Small Heath can do us a favour at Cardiff before we play but I can't see it.

Support was superb tonight. Up The Villa

Good, professional win and as others have said, a couple of key players back as well.  Grabban hitting a real hot scoring streak over the next couple of weeks would be very welcome.

I thought we were sloppy in places, the forwards often playing the ball back and under hitting the pass, Hogan never gets near to heading one of Johnstone's clearances.
Elmo, Terry, Whelan and Taylor all guilty of playing hospital passes at times, lucky not to get punished, they will by better teams.
When we are under pressure we never seem to be able to find an outlet player and hence the ball comes back at us.
Johnstone's kicking is poor , I reckon 1 out of 3 goes somewhere intended.
How many times did we have an attacking opportunity only for the ball to end up at Johnstone's feet?

and yet we still won 3-0.....just shows how crap they were, I'm afraid not how good we were.
