I'd imagine it was sha v Watford in the FAC QF in 1984.

The last time we were on our arse and at the lowest ebb we've ever been, we averaged 10,000 more as a 3rd division club than the tatters manged as a mid-table 1st division side.

Compare that to when they were at their lowest ebb in the 80s and getting an average gate at the Molineux that's less than the away followings we take most weeks.

That's poor support.

Poor is taking 1200 when you're top of the table to Elland Road and 1100 to Hilsborough when we take 2500 and 4600 for a Friday night live game.

They're Mickey mouse.

It was more like 4K more although your points still stands, even second division sha averaged more than Real Barcelona did while finishing top 10.

And i've added to this thread title as we have 2 threads in different sections with the same title.

It’s still a bit disappointing considering the occasion that it’s not a sell out.

Odds are high that only 1 of the PL meetings with them will have been a higher attendance. And if we pass 39K then it tops any of the PL games.

If they'd have sold more than 1800-2000 to any of them then it may have been higher.

This year was the first time they'd sold out at the Noses in years too.

They have wank support.

As I said to a tatter acquaintance of mine today, when was the last time another Midlands team got a gate of 37k?

When was the last time they had a ground that big?

We are the only Midlands team that needs a ground bigger than 30k, maybe the rest of them could pool their resources and ground share.

One thing I do love is how the other local clubs all use us as a measure of their success. Cov and their weird obsession, the Bitters and the "We know what we are" shite, sha and the shifts of power that last about a month if they're lucky, and now out of nowhere Wolves have a decent season and may finish above us for the time in 38 years and they're obsessing about us. Creaming themselves with excitement, as they scream "Mind the Gap" to each other. A gap that for 37 was never mentioned by them and certainly not by us. Such a strange bunch.

Ditto the Baggies until about 2013 when they finished above us for the first time in 40 odd years

You have seen the Wolves' ideas on groundsharing?

Next season I'll be sharing my seat with a Single while they use Villa Park while they build a 60,000 seater.

This being the club whose biggest gate in 40 years was against us in October.

I'd imagine it's because of checking references for this game.
