Just reading that the Bears are the only county to take maximum bowling points in every game this season which is a marvellous achievement.

Will Rhodes also needs 36 more runs to reach 1,000 Championship runs. The only other player to achieve that in Div 2 is Bell. It’s been a wonderful season in red ball cricket.

Don't want to jinx things seeing as we still have an important match to finish, but I agree.  Giles and co. deserve a lot of credit for the way they have reshaped the squad with an emphasis on younger players.

Lancashire lose another wicket to go to 123 for 5. If they score less than 300 they are definitely down.

Warwickshire pass 150.

George Dobell mentions the Barker situation in his report on Cricinfo.

Barker will be a big loss and it probably explains why we have signed two seamers from Gloucestershire.

Bears into the lead and Sibley has passed fifty.

As I was posting Rhodes has gone for 110. 176 for one.

Notts fail to take maximum bowling bonus points at Somerset which maybe keeps Lancashire's slim survival hopes alive.

Lancs stay up if they win, Notts lose, they score at least 300 off their first 110 overs and Notts score fewer than 200.

If Notts score 200 they'd need 350, if Notts score 250 they'd need 400 and if Notts score 300, they're down.

They need a massive partnership from somewhere to even get to 300, 154 for 5.

Bears pass 200, that guarantees that we win the division so long as we don't lose.

Bears 223 for 2, a lead of 56. Kent gave Trott a guard of honour as he came out to replace Bell.

236/3 at lunch and a lead of 69 at lunch.  Trotty only managed 8 in what might have been his last innings.  Going to need some good batting this afternoon to build a good lead.

Lancashire collapse to 273 all out, losing their last three wickets without adding to their score. That's them down. Had they managed to scrape three hundred they'd have probably stayed up as Notts are getting battered.

Bears have just lost their fifth wicket with 284 scored, a lead of 117. Sibley is unbeaten on 103. I would like a lead of at least 300, pretty please.

Think we all would, but not sure it will necessary.  Anything around 200 will a pretty substantial lead I would have thought.

Agreed. But I don't want there to be even a vague possibility of the baddies winning.

I don't think there would be much of a chance from here.  If we add another 40-50 here they'd need to score 350-400 in 4ish sessions to give themselves a chance and a team that's bare past 250 all summer isn't going to do that against the best bowling attack in the division.  I honestly think we're close to not having to bat again already, Denly aside their top 6 look lost.

He will, as he is a decent all-rounder at County level.  The fact that he is a left armer also adds a bit of variety to the attack, so he would be a big loss.  Hopefully something can be sorted regarding his contract as his experience would also be more than useful next season.
