Can anyone confirm if Keith Barker is out of contract next week ?

You are right mate as it stands he is leaving I think

He wants a 2 year deal and the club have only offered him a 1 year deal

PGW may know more...…..
I thought he had an other year left.....but that is not fact. So no not sure.

I had also heard he was leaving, but as I said before I can't find anything to confirm that.  I hope he stays as he is a decent all-rounder, especially in the four day stuff and bowling left arm brings a bit of variety to the attack.

There obviously has been a move at Edgbaston to build a younger squad and they have done it well so far, but I think we will need some experience in the side next season when we are back in the top division.

I have asked Brian Halford but he hasn't replied.

3 overs into morning play and we have moved onto:
151/0
Sibley 45
Rhodes 82

How many overs are there in a day? Is it ninety? And do you lose a couple for a change of innings?

96.....works out to 32 a session which is reason why in most games you always have a late tea. As on days 1-3 there have to be 32 overs left for final session.
Tea taken at scheduled time on Day 4

158/1 Rhodes has gone LBW to Olly Robinson 88. His 66th of the season.
Sibley 46

174/1 Sibley 53 & Trott 4
Ian Bell retired hurt 5 after being hit on the hand. Hopefully not a break to a finger as that would hand a massive
advantage to Kent if this is the end of his season. I imagine will play safe if not broken and not send him out to bat
again today lead now 278

181/1

Ta. We started the day with forty overs played, so the amount of overs we have left to get them out is 96 - total Bears overs + 40. I think!

Doesn't sound good from the live text.  Hope he is OK and it is just a precaution.

Not Bears related, but was speaking to someone who was saying there are going to be pretty radical changes to the Birmingham League structure as of next season.  It is going to go down from four to two leagues with the teams in the bottom two leagues and all the teams in the second team leagues going down into their local divisions (Warks, Staffs, Worcs and Shrops).

Probably means as many as 20 or more teams going down into each of those local divisions and I'm guessing a bit of a headache of how to incorporate them all.

Yes it will affect my club...just don't know the details yet. We only play in the lower reaches of the Warwickshire League Divisions 8 & 10 West although our 2nds did
gain promotion. We have our AGM this Sunday so i may find out a little more from our Secretary.
As you have reminded me i will ensure it's an agenda item.

Lunch 249/2 Sibley 96
Hain 25
So a lead of 346 currently with 65 overs remaining in the day.
Shame Dom couldn't have got his ton prior to lunch.

Only going at 2.9 for the last ten overs (bored at work so I've made a spreadsheet).

Hopefully pick it up again if and when he passes the hundred mark. I'd like to have a bit of a go at them but don't think we will until the potential required rate is at seven per over (currently 5.47... it's on the spreadsheet!)
