I see that Alex Hales has also opted to play just white-ball cricket
Having more top players absent can only hurt the domestic red-ball game

Must admit I'd rather Yorkshire released Rashid than keep him on for white ball cricket, he seems to have picked and chosen what he's wanted to play the last couple of seasons.

I think it’s no coincidence that these players are not in the test side any longer so they want to take the T20 dollar at the various tournaments around the world.
Bayliss said interview the other day that he thinks international T20 should be scrapped and if the players want to concentrate on the franchise game then I agree with him.

I wonder how many Saturday limited overs games the Bears are playing this season?
Oh, fuck all. Thanks for that lads.

I have been meaning to mention that Belly will be turning out for K&D in the BPL this coming season. He will probably only play a handful of games, unlike Ateeq, but him and George Worker may prove a handful for most bowling attacks.
Looking forward to it!

Sam Hain had a memorable debut for the England Lions. He scored 144 off 121 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes against West Indies A.
Pleased for him but if he continues with that kind of form it mean he be lost to the Bears.

Virat being linked to a few games in the CC. Essex and...Surrey (surprise surprise) favourites.
I always thought he'd be great for us, potentially putting a huge number on the attendance.

As a Worcestershire fan, I'm pleased with the signing of Travis Head but feel we could do with another all rounder in there. Magoffin is ok, will hopefully teach some of the younger bowlers a few tricks and be a good influence on them.

There could well be an all rounder coming in Mo if he doesn’t lift his game quickly, he hasn’t contributed with bat or ball sufficiently all winter so the next test might be when England decide to go with Leach as a full time spinner.

Hain had a good knock in the MCC v Champion County game, he scored 140 no.
He needs a good season in red ball Cricket, he’s been poor in that format for a couple of seasons. If he starts the new season well then he’s in with a shout of an England call up.

A big shout, as there's so little quality competition.

Any predictions for the coming season? I usually do a Yankee bet with the four comps.
Div 1 Notts
Div 2 Middlesex
T20 Surrey
RL Cup Yorks
I think mid table for the Warwickshire and maybe a decent run in the T20 plus semis in the RL cup.

I'm not sure what to expect from the bears this year, they clearly gave up on the league last year and decided to blood some of the youngsters so now there's a lot of lads in their early 20s who've had those first few games to get an idea of what's required. Will be interesting to see how quickly they can step up. A couple of the young bowlers look pretty impressive.

Eve of the season and David Willey has decided to take the money of the IPL and leave Yorkshire severely depleted in the pace department. Be happy to see him released from his contract, he's contributed nothing with the ball and seems to be a hit and run specialist with the bat.
