I thought their party line was that they weren’t bothered they’d lost to Watford because Man City would have won anyway?

I think they're taking a pre-season tour game a little too seriously.

They've done a special edition home shirt for the pre-season tournament win! 😂

To be fair it is their first trophy since Larry Lloyd’s fcuk up in 1980.

I saw one clown boasting that they’d just beaten the best team in the world!

The did the double in 1988. The fourth division title and the Associate Members cup. Ally Robertson can claim he was a double winning captain.

Sorry for the pedantry - wasn't it David Needham's fcuk up?

I think it was Needham's mistake but I also think Larry Lloyd was involved. Didn't Gray nip in between the two of them?

Without YouTubing or googling, I’m sure it was a clash between Needham and Shilton?

You guys are probably right, I was trying to remember.  I know Shilton came towards it to clear the ball.

Back in the old days before the league Cup final was shown live on TV and was played on a Saturday at 3pm along with all the other days fixtures. They used to show the highlights on the Sunday. I think the first one that was shown live was Liverpool v Everton in 1984. Although I seem to remember the 1981 final replay between Liverpool and West Ham at Villa Park being shown live.

Goal celebrations were better then weren’t they? Just hands up happiness, none of this robot twerking shenanigans, pointing to your name. I had to get up at 4:15 for a flight - harrumph.
