Just having a nose over on their thread about this. Some special efforts on there but this one made me giggle:

Unbelievable how things have changed because of wmp and the difficulty getting tickets. They've given Villa their home advantage back.

It can't just be me who thought overall, Blues came out of that article a lot better than us?

Some very creative expressions in there, an enjoyable piece. Not sure the writer would get away with it in BadEnglish's class but fair play.

It is alright. If the writer is anything like his students then they will just knock him out!

Well there's a surprise. I didn't think any DVBs were intelligent enough to read the Guardian !

The article itself is a very enjoyable read. I was at the Mausoleum for the 1983 match and I suspect this weekends encounter will be dull, drab & dreary by comparison. Still I'll settle for a dull, drab & dreary 3 points (or 1). As I'm sure your lot would.

Coming to play on here again because there's no sign of life on your message board? Don't you get lonely being a Blues fan?

I think she is very lonely with all those empty spaces around her , but hey they are the Windscreen Wiper Trophy Champions don’t you know and they took 2million to Wembley the day they won it 🤔

The article is a eulogy to Blues’ delusion. It needs more Villa fans on there asserting our clear pre-eminence in the history of this particular tie.

The author of that article is obviously still pissed off that we dumped him off to Bristol City 20 years ago.

Can we have a little bit more detail please? I originally read the article and didn't comment as I was beginning to think I'd developed some unfounded anti-Villa journalist paranoia. But as they say "you're not actually paranoid if they are out to get you".

My only memory of him is he played in one of the most boring games i've ever been to. 0-0 at home to Boro, a midweek game just before the LC final in '96.
