Yep terrible heavyweight and he’s been irrelevant for a very long time. But when he mullered Maccarinelli at cruiserweight I thought he was something special. Which I guess he was at that point at that weight.

Haye is clearly shot and should stop. Fine fighter in his prime.

Yep.  Could have stayed at Cruiserweight and dominated that division for years, but chose to make the step up.  His body gave up on him again last night and it was clear that he was injured quite early on.

He didn't have much choice - he was struggling to make the cruiser limit.

I was at that Macaranelli fight and expected it to be tight. He absolutely battered him from the off.

I am also pretty sure I saw Enzo fight on the undercard of a Khan fight (Barrera?) In Manchester. I miss having the time and money to splurge on getting good seats at the boxing.

The ringside for Hatton v Tszyu was fucking immense.

Well he didn't beat one decent opponent and almost exclusively fought bums, some of which he labored against/lost to.

You can debate the merits of Valuev and Ruiz, maybe not great but they weren't bums and which bums did he lose to?

Not sure what your point is, other than hair splitting for no obvious reason.

Feel free to replace the word terrible with another one somewhere between terrible and good, and the word bum with another one that accurately describes the heavyweights he faced other than Klitschko.

Well I’m saying he wasn’t a terrible heavyweight, obviously he wasn’t a great heavyweight. He was ok though and in his prime it was only Klitschko who beat him.

As a casual boxing fan but by no means an expert wouldn't his decision to step up have been a financial decision?

Partly, but he really was struggling to make the weight by then.

Watching it now. That was a lovely finish from Reece Cartwright.

Should be an interesting fight in Leeds tonight.  Selby has undoubted quality, but seems to have fought within himself the last few times I have seen him.
