Can’t knock six on the spin, and the distant past means jack-all, but... I can’t help thinking of us stuttering against Bolton under Gregory and the effect that game had on us. It’s bollocks, I know, but <shudder>

Elmo’s finish was absolutely top drawer. He nearly took out the net.

6 wins on the bounce and one of the favourites for automatic promotion yet people still moan, probably the “fans” that don’t go down the matches.

'Just home & didn't hear or see anything of today's game. It doesn't sound like we were much cop - judging by the comments I've read - but at least we held on for the win. Methinks ideas will have to well & truly be bucked-up if we're to dispatch the bizarrely in-form Sty Dwellers: especially in a defensive capacity. We go again...

Oh do fuck off with that bollocks. I didn’t go down, yet watched the game and saw what many people who went to the game saw.

Good to win, you have to wonder if we have some sort of agreement with Tottenham and Manchester United to give their boys game time because I didn’t feel they needed to come on at the point steve made the subs.

None of that if you don't mind.

Other than from jack, very little drive going forward.
It felt like we never got out of second gear.

I’m starting to get very frustrated with Hourihane, who seems to be affecting games less and less.

Still, 3 points and maybe a little smack on the arse to remind us we have a lot more to do yet.

The subs seemed to interrupt our flow. If there were changes to be made at that point I would have expected Davis and Onomah to replace Hogan and Hourihane. I can only think that Snodgrass had a knock or that taking him off was to protect him from a second yellow card.

Yes that penalty decision was outrageous.  Absolutely lovely play leading up to it, and they stopped him by fouling him.

The ref was completely shit. So many petty decisions all game - he just didn't allow the game to flow. Crazy amount of bookings.

I still worry about Hogan, despite the recent goals.  14 touches today, according to Whoscored.  Obviously one of those was the goal so that's great, but other than that he offers nothing.  No runs, no touches, no build up play, he really is just there to tap it in.

Putting onomah on was like going down to 10 men.

The ref was pants no protection whatsoever for grealish, John terry is worst game for us and he has been brilliant up to now and Adomah off the pace. True reflection of a poor game. Btw man of the match Hutton or grealish

They're as much of a fan as you are so there is really no need for the snide remarks.

Six wins on the bounce is great but for me we're still too often unconvincing, somewhat negative or at least over cautious,  and having to grind it out or hang on at the end.  Against the bottom team at home, that  shouldn't really be happening.  I suppose we should focus on the positives but I just wish Bruce would let them go for it a bit more.  My fear is that if he doesn't, our luck could run out.  I don't expect much attacking intent next week.
