The goals apart, that was a horrible game. Very little purpose to our game, so many back passes, thank goodness for Grealish and Snodgrass. If that had been any other team I'd have stopped watching after 15 minutes. As impressive as six wins in a row is, we still don't look very convincing. We'll need to freshen things up next week as the players look jaded.

A win is a win but the arrogant pre match predictions by some were proven slightly optimistic!

You do know that it makes absolutely no difference at all if you predict 5-0, 3-1, 2-0, losing 1-0, or 6-0. We have no effect on the way the players will play. Nobody predicted 5-0 vs Bristol City and we won by that score and had they done so, other than being ridiculed we still would have won 5-0.

6 league wins in a row for the first time in just under 28 years (21st Feb 1990). Harder work than it should have been but feck it, not playing well and still scoring 3 and winning is a good sign.

Another massive 3 points but that was shit. Play like that next week and we'll lose.

After conceding 1 goal in the last 5, to concede 2 at home to bottom placed Burton who coming into the game were the second lowest scorers is very poor. The defence looked unsure all game long. Hopefully today is just an anomaly.

We've had a weakness defending corners most of the season tbh.

Thought it would be cured by Terry coming back but clearly not, bit of a weakness of Johnstone's game, he doesn't command the six yard box from set pieces.

I think we're probably being a bit negative. You're always going to have off days, which this was, but we still won. Plus it's not like the defensive lapses are indicative of a trend, we've generally been strong at the back.

Today we were below par, but also "unlucky". Clear penalty and an own goal 30 seconds later

Yes that penalty decision was outrageous.  Absolutely lovely play leading up to it, and they stopped him by fouling him.

This for me.

We won, enjoy it  :) :)

Or that you're riding your luck a bit. We've been wobbly in a few of these victories, if that continues someone will take points off us soon. For now though, six straight wins makes great reading.

3 points and hopefully winning to the wire is out of the system and we can win the next game convincingly next week. Hopefully.
Just wish the Blues hadn't started to do this already.

Very sloppy and ridden with unenforced errors. Burton were abysmal yet we just made completely unecssary decisions and put ourselves under pressure. It's almost as if we've not played Burton but played ourselves.

Johnstone and his kicking was poor;
Hutton and Elmo are chronically wasteful and seem incapable of moving the ball into space in the channel;
Snodders and Albert had some iffy moments;
We sat much too deep;
Hourihane anonymous;
Terry having a brain freeze for their goal;
Thor slowing play right down with too many touches and so many sideways or backwards balls;
And Elmo, you won't play next week, but good God what the actual fuck was that own goal?

Yet...we found away to win and never looked under any pressure. This made the poor performances all the bizarre.

Some lovely goals, especially the first. Jack was good yet again and it was a horrendous decision not to give the penalty. What a twat that referee was.

Pleased with the win and Hogan scoring again. Few changes needed for next week, but 6 on the spin is magnificent. Hopefully we use today's performance as a catalyst to refocus on matters.

Positives - 3 well worked goals, especially the 1st. A couple of other moves, most notably the Grealish non-penalty were up there too, suggesting that there might be a really good footballing side on the verge of breaking out. The Steve Agnew effect? If so he could prove to be the best signing we've made over the last 2 seasons.

Negatives - Hourihane was anonymous, Elmohamady looked awful on the ball, apart from the cross for Albert and Johnstone needs to consistently command the 6 yard box.

Relieved to take / satisfied with the 3 points. Roll on next Sunday.

I think that's harsh on Burton Ads, who I generally thought tried to pass the ball well, and in Dyer I think they had one of the best players on the pitch.
