People go on about not playing to Hogan's strengths, but since he's been here, he is yet to show what those really are.

Remember when we played to his strengths and he scored 5 in 5?

He's a very good footballer. The technique for both his goals, but particularly the first, was excellent.

Thosr goals were from crosses. Have we stopped doing that?

I'd forget about Hogan and Kodjia (other than sub appearances) Grabban has to be our first choice forward.

Or we could pick between Grabban and Kodjia based on who we're playing and how we want to approach the game, thus taking advantage of having 2 strikers who are exceptional at this level. If we did that right across the midfield and frontline we'd be challenging with Wolves for top rather than looking like we're going to have to settle for 4th.

Hogan is good at what he does but it’s too limited - and limiting

For what we paid he’s still been a disappointment for me

Trouble is it was probably about 5 in 10 touches.

Hogan is not a bad player but it just hasn't worked for him at Villa.  Grabban, in my view is just a better player.  Fits in with our style better and is a better finisher.

I've said it before but I genuinely think Hogan is a poor player but has good enough instincts in front of goal to be a good goalscorer so long as teams accept that he brings nothing else.  I think Monty said before that he's basically Darren Bent and I agree except I'd also add with the top end pace to frighten teams.

Grabban is a far better player (but I suspect he may be a bit of a 'bully' who looks world class against average defenders but struggles against a decent defence, the Cardiff game backs that up a bit and it explains why he struggled in the premier league) and if we don't go up I think he'd be a great signing but if we're promoted I'm just not sure that a 30 year old who's struggled for games and goals at 2 premier league clubs over 3 seasons is the sort of signing to show that we're back and we mean business.

Just in case I haven't made my position and views clear, I think Hogan is shit. No really, I do.  He came on today, stood between their two central defenders for 25 minutes, then when he did get a chance on a plate, he skied it over the bar.  Absolute rubbish.

Hogan showed at Brentford he is a good striker at this level.

It's been really clear since his early games he just dosen't suit our style. It's alright saying we should change our style of play to get more out of Hogan but Grabban dosen't seem to have an issue scoring goals from the way we play.

If we can sell hogan for 5m I'd do it and use that to get Grabban on a full time basis.

I'd look to play both, they were great second half v Cardiff pushing and pulling their back 4 all over the place with their runs.

Let's be honest aside from the odd game Adomah hasn't been great at all since the play offs so don't think he should be a nailed on starter when the play offs begin.

When Hogan came on Grabban played on the left and to me that's where he's best suited, what impresses me is his ability to hold the ball and the way he can pick out a good pass.

Adomah needed and deserved a rest - like Snoddy

I thought he looked energised when he came on v Leeds but agree we should play the man in form

If that means Grabban left and hogan up top at home then I’d be ok

I wouldn’t play hogan away from home though. Apart from Forest away I can’t think of a single away league game where he’s played well. And it’s so limiting if you’re gonna play the shape we’re playing.

If you play Hogan at all, home or away, you're effectively playing with 10 men.  If he's not scoring, which let's be honest is the vast majority of the time, he isn't contributing anything else.  Grabban, Kodjia and even Davis add a lot more to the team.

Has he shagged your missus?!  Or ran over your cat?!

I reckon you've got a post in slagging Hogan off on pretty much every thread on this site...
