I was impressed by Grabban
last night - he looked committed and composed unlike Hogan when he came on
Grabban reminds a bit of Collymore -  his style of running and the way he holds the ball up

Yes a little bit like Stan but no where near him. Collymore could have ranked alongside the best in the world in the mid to late 90's if only....

I've been impressed by Grabban since he first joined us. I must confess to not knowing anything about him prior to that.

We were back to 433 last night and if we stay down, I'd like us to revert to this next season.

Ideally, in those circumstances, I would like us to either get Grabban back on loan or to buy him outright. I'd then play a front 3 of either Grabban, Kodjia, Adomah, Green or (last choice) Hogan. This is of course assuming that Snodgrass won't be coming back.

Totally agree with these comments and also the previous one questioning why a player of his unquestionable ability has had such a nomadic career

He’s probably just happy that he’s finally playing for a big club.

If we don't go up, would like to sign him permanently if we can afford him.

I'd take him even if we do go up.

Has a bit of everything to his game -without being truly outstanding in any one aspect.

Thought we were getting a mobile striker who could -in theory- play anywhere across the front three. But would play in a similar fashion in any of those three positions. Like a Scott Sinclair, for example.

But he can switch his game up depending on where he plays. Directly up top? He can hold the ball up a bit and make it stick, is a nuisance to centre halves and is reasonable in the air.

Out wide? He can pull fullbacks out of position, or get in behind, with a well timed run.

Tuesday night was possibly the best I'd seen from him. In a dour match, he was prob our best outfield player (sorry Jack).

That Cardiff shithouse is still trying to find his way back into the stadium after that cheeky dummy in the corner of the Holte and Trinity.

And I thought the defence splitting pass to put Hourihane through was from Jack initially.

He has had a nomadic career up until now. But realistically, we'll be the biggest club he plays for. Perhaps he knows that and is determined to make it work.

Agree with Kevin. I'd take him as a back-up striker even if we do go up. Pest of a striker for defenders to deal with, always going to get goals.

Him, Kodija and a new signing plus RHM and Davis is a decent set of options and doesn't block the progress of the younger strikers.

Hogan, McCormack and Gabby should all go even if we take a big hit on transfer fees - that's £100k plus saved on wages towards a new striker.

anyone who scores 12 goals for a crap team like Sunderland , must be pretty decent. I do like him and heard he has played midfield in the past and seeing that ball to conor I can see why they used him there . Sign him up

He seems to like it here too - I would welcome him as a new signing as long as the price is reasonable

He's done well but I wonder if we'd got Mitrovic instead of him, would we be where Fulham are now?

No, Grabban, as they both moved on-loan in January.

Anyway, I was, ahem, trying to tempt fate into a Brentford equaliser, looks like it did the trick.

Someone like Grabban should've been signed in August.

We were well short upfront start of the season (Gabby starting and Samba coming on as emergency CF). We knew Kodjia wouldn't be available for first 10 games months in advance.

Poor planning and contributed to one win in our first seven league games.
