We won.  Doesn’t matter how.  We are third.  There’s life in this season.

With Golden Boot contender Scott Hogan leading the way, we are unstoppable.

Four wins on bounce and Grealish/Hogan in top form. Bodes well.

Well done Villa, obviously second half could have been better but we won. Well done Scotty!

Not convincing in the second half but we were dominant in the first half. Still good to see us win again. And Scott Hogan very unlucky not to bag a hat trick today. Great to see him confident and scoring.

On December 23rd after blowing that 2-0 lead vs Sheff Utd, we were 9 points off an automatic promotion place.

It's now 3.

The team is doing well.

This season could yet be great.

The sort of match that the promoted teams chalk off with regularity.  Second place within touching distance with more winnable games to come.

Good 3 points.
Grealish great, Hogan good, Birkir good, SJ as always.

A bit sloppy second half but you always felt we were in control and had another gear if needed. Our job done and on to the next one. We now have 10 days to rest up and recover before a tricky away trip. Let's hope Sheffield Wednesday can do us a fave later.

I was ready to wave goodbye to Hogan this month so fair play. With Kodja unlikely to play again this season he may become a pivitol rather than peripheral player.
Long way to go but right in there.
