A backs to the wall at times display but we were resilient and resolute. Happy for Scotty again and a special mention for Thor who came in and did a brilliant job in place the liability that is Glen Whelan. All in all very pleased.

Happy with the performance and result today, I know Forest were shit but we could have won by 3 today with a bit more luck. You’d normally expect the home side to have more attacking moments but the team worked hard to nullify Forest before they got into dangerous positions.
Looked better when Bjork came on at half time as there was a bit more tempo to us. Onwards and upwards.

Thor was excellent in the second. That is clearly his role. Good solid win.

Oh and after a disastrous run of games I’m now on a 3 win streak in starting match threads. Just saying.

3 points. Job done. But why am I always shitting myself that we'll let our opponents equalise?

Just got home to see we've managed to see out the rest of the game for the win.

'Well chuffed. :)

Despite some silly comments on the match thread tgat was pretty one sided. Controlled the second half and rarely looked in trouble. 3 points. Next.

Professional job. Impetuous callow yoots taught a lesson by their elders and betters.

It's the Villa way, but having John Terry back there marshalling things eases my sphincter considerably.

Because it is the (former?) Villa way.

I normally turn the telly off as soon as the full time whistle goes when Sky covers our away games.
Not tonight....that was a totally professional display that keeps us right in there.

Special mention for Jack, Snodgrass and Barney, who was excellent when he came on.

GET IN!!!

Excellent away performance, just a shame we couldn't get a second. Every player knew what their role was and that was easily Thor's best showing in a Villa shirt so far. Winger he isn't. Only three wins off last seasons entire total and still got around four months left and some very winnable games to come.

Hard fought win, not a lot to write home about but you can't fault the effort. It was always going to be a tough game. The 3 points keeps us in the mix and right now, that's all that's important tonight.
