Looks like Andy Murray* will be out of the Aussie Open

Britain's Andy Murray says he may have to consider surgery after withdrawing from the Brisbane International because of his long-term hip injury.

The 30-year-old is down to 16th in the world, having not played since July.

If he's still having problems with his hip after 6 months out, looks like surgery is probably now most likely. Nadal and Djokovic also doubtful, so looking good for yet another Federer grand slam.

So Murray opted for hip surgery in the end. Apparently the op was a success - should've had it done in July when he was clearly in such discomfort at Wimbledon. He'd be fit by now...
