Irrepressible team held and lifted high by Villans giving everything, everything from the heart.I am sure Bernboy that for those of us of a certain age this is the game we will remember. It was a packed Villa Park, Villa were in the old third division and for me , this game stood for the re-birth of the club that 12 years later would be lifting the European Cup. The Trinity Road stand was rocking, the Holte End was absolutely rammed and in the middle of it all a 12 year old Virgil Caine realised that this would be the football team he would go through life with.

94 League Cup Final Villa 3 United 1, goals from Dalian and 2 from Deano. A United side that had Keane, Ince, Giggs, Hughes, Cantona and a certain Steve Bruce.

I got claret spray paint all over my jacket.
