Why do Ocean Duller Scene (clever eh?) always get a mention in the countless threads about music at Villa Park? I know they are a Birmingham band and all that but they are also an abomination with no strong (if any) Villa connection, the above mentioned song is also, as has been pointed out, an horrendous dirge.

The bellend that warbles out the words is a nose as well. He was on Talksport a few years back when they won the league cup, although he clearly knew shit all about them or football in general, and was just using the slot to get some publicity.

Steve Cradock is a Villa fan. He was called by someone on Talksport some years ago prior to an FA Cup game at Arsenal. His comments were juvenile and embarrasing, something of the ilk: "we'll smash the southern shandy drinkers". We lost 3-2.

We're a creative bunch.

We're not though are we? Holte Enders in the Sky, Walking in a Villa Wonderland, Villa Villa Villa, the modern day football fan is only capable of singing very basic dirge...see Liverpool...Liverrrpooooooool, Liverpoooooooool. I mean, really? We occasionally see fans singing a creative tune via a twitter video in the concourse or something...but very rarely from the stands.

That's precisely my point. How do we get some of those songs sung in the stands rather than the same old shite or a random Oasis song just because it was played over the tannoy at Reading two years ago.

Are the heavy metal is shit comments serious?

Probably. I would imagine heavy metal is something you either love or hate.

I absolutely adore it, though realise I'm in a minority. If we ran out to metal, I'd be tempted to mosh. Though with all the blues fans in the Holte End, I doubt there'd be any room to start a mosh pit

Yeah.  In a crowd of 30k how many do you think are going to be into Magadeath?  A pretty low percentage I suspect.

But it always seems to me that metal fans punch above their weight when it comes to internet forums and certainly on debates about football music.

I wouldn't imagine too many would be into Megadeth, but anyone with vaguely decent taste in music likes a few Black Sabbath numbers.

Said it before but I'm surprised Ghostriders in the Sky has never been used as walk out piece before.

Maybe it would be too manufactured but it would get the Holte signing before kick off.

Heavy Metal, is, shit.

Amusing thing about this debate is people would be surprised by some of the bands that are listed or defined under the Heavy Metal genre that Sabbath pretty much started.

Sure there's quite a few listed here that many would like and never in a million years class as Heavy Metal.

It's pretty much always played every game.

It's never been played as the specific walk on music though. You do get a bit of it just before the team is  announced for some reason.

I love my music and am open minded, prepared to give anything a try but heavy metal does absolutely nothing for me. Also, Ozzy Osbourne's singing voice is fucking horrible.
