Aston Villa v Ipswich Town pre-match thread

A bit late with this aren't we?

Anyway, I'm hoping for an entertaining and straightforward 2-0 home win, to keep the pressure on the teams above us.

I think this has the potential for a dull 0-0 or 1-1 written all over it.

Can't see Ipswich winning at Villa Park 2 seasons running. If anyone will nick it, it will be us. We need Davis to bully their back line like he did with their East Anglian cousins.

Have Ipswich got any 'experienced' defenders though? That was Davis' problem against Sunderland, from what I read.

Coming up for this one so hopefully a win. One defeat in my last eleven trips was to these last season so hopefully we'll avenge that tomorrow. 2-1 and Albert and Grealish to score.

I wouldn't know any of the Ipswich players if I fell over them in the street so no idea.

I know their midfielder Teddy Bishop as he comes from our little village....not sure if he will play though...

Can you inadvertently run his legs over tonight or something?

Any win will send me home happy. It''s a bit like having a bet on a horse.  Yes it's nice if you can see it's going to win with a furlong left to run but at the end of the day it doesn't matter if it wins by 10 lengths  or a short head as long as you collect.

Think it will be tight because Big Mick will have them well drilled and could see them play a effective counter attack game which our lack of pace at the back might struggle to cope with.  But the momentum is with us and their very hit and miss.  Home form has been good, so will go for a 2-0 home win.  Samba and Connor to score.

This will be tough I reckon. I'll go for 1-1. An Adomah penalty.
