We'll know about a decent number of them next season if they can cut it in the top flight, either with us or they'll leave if we don't go up.

If we don't make it it's a bit of a worry tbh. Terry will go, Chester and Kodjia will be sold I guess and probably no Johnson.

Lets hope we get there, it will be less of a rebuild than if we don't!

A tad presumptuous.

If you read my posts you would know I am far from convinced Bruce can get us promoted! It is more a what if we did thread.

Not many imo.

Johnstone
Terry
Chester
Davis
The Kodge

Maybe Adomah and Grealish. The rest would need replacing I think.

Just my opinion.

This is the daftest thread I've seen since joining H&V 6 years ago.

CLOSE IT DOWN.

Interesting question. I feel Bruce has in close season  deliberately brought in premier league players to prepare for next season.

But you could ask who has ability to play premier league football and there are already several proven players.

Then there are the ones when hopefully, fingers crossed, do they have the abilities and attitude to play but also importantly perform.

Players who have played and  proved it in premier league though not necessarily in coming years.
The 3 being :
Agbonlahor 74 goals imagine would be nice if he can get 100 and retire
Hutton
Richards
Ideally all 3 to be moved on end of season but in their pomp were all decent premier league players however now their some others who are ahead and have to shuffle these 3 along next season.

Then have players who are premium level but age is a factor
Terry
Jedinak
Whelan

Prem quality
Chester and Taylor are proven  international and premier league defenders.
Snodgrass is premier league
Elmohamdy though not as quality as snodgrass is also a premier league player.

Hourihane and Hogan up and coming internationals and are high end championship level. They can be given a chance.

Villa have some exciting younger players especially Grealish Green Bree and Davis. With others progressing

Kodija is prem level and could play as well as several current premier league players.

Adomah and Lansbury are interesting level players. As is Da last. And they could be improved upon but are as good as some existing prem players so tough one all round.

I would think the spine would need strengthen and squad depth. But will see. Villa do have the strongest squad in championship but premier league and stay established further additions would be needed.

I don't like to tempt fate so there's a long way to go before we can start to talk like that.

If the question is which of our players could cut it in the PL, then I think a few would be good enough to play in a PL team, but as a group we're some way off.

Definite:
Terry
Chester
Kodija
Snodgrass

Good potential -
Hourihane
Grealish
Davis
Green
Hogan

Could prob do a job, but lower end level
Taylor
Elmo
De Laet
Adomah (bit reluctant to have him in this group and could get bumped up if form continues)
Hutton

Unfortunately I think Jedi will probably be too old.

so unusually, it looks like I mostly agree with Skillz.

Fell free to if you like, I am not precious about it.

I really don't see the problem with discussing what we think might might need to happen with the squad should fortune favour us. We are one of the favourites for promotion (damn well should be) and it is not that unlikely.

I might well start a companion discussion on what happens if we don't get back up. That one is a worry as I guess we will have to sell players to balance the books, and the ones with offers are not likely to be the ones we all want shot of.

On current form I would add Johnson who am assuming we would sign if go up (and would like us to if we don't also).

You know who he means.  I really don't understand why people feel the need to pick up on this sort of thing all the time.

I don't believe in curses -  but even so delete this thread!

I'm short, I think we'd need to focus strengthening on centre back (doubt Terry will play) and above all centre midfield. Otherwise I think it would be a case of getting quality wherever you could

I'd be happy w Johnstone
