Everybody will go through a three game blip like we did.

Which one? We've had two already this season.

We should win tonight and again on Saturday. That will put us back in the chasing back, and put pressure on the top 2. They won't like seeing a club like Villa on their tails.

It's time to act like the big club we are. Come on Villa!

Hull, Cardiff, Reading - 3 game blip.

Norwich to Forest - automatic promotion form.

Bristol City, Brentford, Middlesbrough - another 3 game blip.

Unless you consider 3 points from 9 (with 2 games at home), not a blip?

I consider 12 from 6 automatic promotion form, as I've stated.

Anyway, I'm off to the game.

Just to back up the argument that teams that want to go up need to win these games, last season:

Burton 0-1 Brighton
Burton 1-2 Newcastle
Burton 0-1 Huddersfield

All tight games, but you have to find a way to get over the line.

Pretty much everyone has a tough game there. last season and this only 4 times has anyone won there by more than a goal.

Even that form throughout the whole season would not have got automatic promotion last season.

If Villa, after the start they have had, get 12 out of every 18 points for the rest of the season, they might just scrape the play-offs.

Far be it for me to defend Bruce but that is cobblers. Even on the basis of playing only 30 more matches we would be in play off land with 12 from each 18.

2 pts per game for the rest of the season would give us 87pts. Last year 80 pts was the last play off position, although that was unusually high. I'd say 76 would do it this year, meaning we need 1.7pts per game, or win 5 draw 2 lose 3 in every 10. If we can't manage that then Bruce would need sacking. Automatic should still be the aim, it has to be.
