I fully get that they are better at home than away, but if we can't go to Burton Albion on the back of two wins and expect to win then we really are a pessimistic bunch.  This absolutely is a game that teams with any hopes of going up are expecting three points, and that's the mindset we need to adopt and quick.

Snodgrass to sneak one before half-time after a messy half for both teams.

2nd half will be much the same, maybe Terry to get a header from a corner, but I think its 1 nil to us.

Massive midweek for us with the top four playing each other. Win tonight and we could be just 3 or 4 points off 4th. Win again on Saturday and we're right in contention without even playing well or doing anything special. This is Villa though, we'll probably lose both.

Will be a tough game, but an early goal should take the pressure off a bit.

If you do lose both games it's because we do not have a good team and or manager and not because we are Villa and somehow cursed.

Everybody will go through a three game blip like we did.

Which one? We've had two already this season.

We should win tonight and again on Saturday. That will put us back in the chasing back, and put pressure on the top 2. They won't like seeing a club like Villa on their tails.

It's time to act like the big club we are. Come on Villa!

This. Get the win tonight, then push on and we are right back in it.

Looking forward to the game tonight now, miss the anticipation and excitement of going into a game on the back of a couple of wins with that cautious feeling of optimism rising as it gets closer to kick off.

You know that winning will feel better than it normally does even, the sky will be the limit- but the harsh crash back to reality if we lose will be worse too.

What football’s all about though surely?

If we win the next two games (and we should do) then Bruce is nearly in a position where we are meeting the absolute worst acceptable performance level for Villa this season, so long as other result go in our favour. At the moment he still has us some way below that.

If we do not get promoted this season he will rightly be sacked, play-offs are not really good enough given the resource he has at his disposal. With the money Xia has spent and the facilities Villa have it should be like shooting fish in a barrel going to teams like Burton Albion.

If we do not win the next two I hope he gets his P45. That said I do think we will win, and that we have turned a corner.

Hull, Cardiff, Reading - 3 game blip.

Norwich to Forest - automatic promotion form.

If we win the next two, I'll be waiting for my letter telling me the Trinity Upper will be back open

Just to back up the argument that teams that want to go up need to win these games, last season:

Burton 0-1 Brighton
Burton 1-2 Newcastle
Burton 0-1 Huddersfield

All tight games, but you have to find a way to get over the line.
