Whilst, for me, Moscow away was the start of the decline, Leicester away two years ago was the day Villa's collapse looked certain

You can pinpoint the exact moment in this game when, we not only lost the game but the season and Sherwood his job.  From the text updates (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/33838830) on 65 mins.

"Posted at 65 mins
SUBSTITUTIONS
Leicester 0-2 Aston Villa
It had been all Leicester since the break but that worked like a dream for Villa.

Both sides make changes. On come N'Golo Kante and Leo Ulloa for Leicester, while Villa send on Jordan Ayew for goalscorer Carles Gil."

2-0 up away from home and he took off Gil who was having a great game and 2 mins after he scored, and brought on a striker?!  Rest is indeed history...for both teams!

I sometimes wonder what would have happened to both sides that season if we'd held onto the lead. We'd have been W2 D1 L2 after 5 games, instead it took us until mid December and 17 games to reach 7 points.

Imagine my pain that day, as if the game alone wasn't bad enough. It was on my 40th birthday so we were hosting a family BBQ and watching the game with family members of which only me and my dad are Villa fans. We were outnumbered by Noses plus one Bitter, having to endure that match. My mood quickly changed for the worse. To be fair no one really took the piss, good job really.

In recent times we'd had some great results on my birthday; 1-0 at The Sty in 2009 and 1-0 at Anfield in 2014 I think. Gabby with the winnner both times. How times change.

3 random things I remember from the day, some bint right next to the Villa fans, to the left, giving it the massive biggun early on, vanishing when we took the lead, and reappearing at 2-2 to give it the biggun again. How much the away end sways under your feet, it's like being on a trampoline. And finally as we were walking away from the ground after the game, someone running towards the ground who shouted "come on Villa" as he legged it past, no idea if it was a Leicester fan 'wanting it' or a weird Villa fan.

I remember the impending inevitability of proceedings. You just KNEW it was going to happen.

Fortunes don't change on one particular  moment but this most definitely did so.

We'd still be in the Premier League if we had of won. I sincerely believe that.

I'm not sure if it was the moment when it all became inevitable, but it was the day that proved Sherwood was a chancer and out of his depth.

I'm amazed we blew it that day, it's obvious what he wanted the players doing.

He looks like he is giving it the full Mike Reid. "Runaround now"!

It was a pivotal moment in both teams season. It was the day we started believing we would lose every game, and they started believing they would win every game, and that continued to the end of the season.

It was also this

I remember it well. We went to an autograph convention at a hotel at Heathrow. Watched the game in the bar which was very posh and quiet. Each time we scored I had to have a silent celebration and each time we conceded I had to seethe very quietly. I think I nearly exploded with barely contained anger. I couldn't even have a drink as I was driving.

Still I had a nice chat with John Challis who played Boycie in Only fools and horses and met Bruce McCandless the astronaut. Random as the kids would say.
