Home to any of the teams I haven't seen us play, which is about a 1/3 chance.

They've now regionalised the draw aswell as seeding it. We're in the North draw so our potential opponents are:

14.  Bury / Barnsley*
15.  Accrington Stanley
16.  Blackburn Rovers
17.  Bolton Wanderers
18.  Carlisle United
19.  Doncaster Rovers
20.  Newport County
21.  Nottingham Forest
22.  Rochdale
23.  Rotherham United
24.  Scunthorpe United
25.  Sheffield United
26.  Wigan Athletic

What a load of old shite. If we draw any one of those teams at home ...I wont be going. More dumbing down of football .The "big six" wont have to play each other so will have an easy ride to the quarter finals ...and one of them will win it. Just have a raffle with 6 tickets  in it and give them the trophy. No chance of a derby,no real chance of winning it, no excitement in this cup anymore. Its been mickey mouse for years ..except for 2011 of course when it was a major trophy.

I chose Millwall because I want revenge for the 1-0 defeat at their place when Lambert never got off his seat, Danny Shittu was made to look like Paul McGrath, us travelling fans were kettled for two hours in sub zero temperatures, the police forced us to go to London Bridge whether we wanted to or not while they completely ignored a Millwall ambush on two coach loads of our fans.  Plus the pelting of our players with plastic bottles and similar debris.  Redress for that game from hell is long overdue.

I was there that night. Our mini bus got pulled over on the way there by police checking to see who were, but yes, it was a very unpleasant experience all round.

I went to Millwall in '87-88 (Easter Saturday I think) and 89'90. Very grim ground and moody/aggressive atmosphere. They should run out to the Mastermind theme music. 'Approaching Menace'.

Great club Newport. European Cup Winners Cup quarter finalists in the eighties. Helped by being in The Welsh Cup and any time the likes of Hereford or Shrewsbury won it they couldn't take the place of a Welsh club.

Accrington Stanley (exactly) at home please - them and Newport are the only teams out of that lot that I've not seen 'in the flesh'

Happy with that. Blose and Millwall were the two I was most wanting to avoid.

Be interested to see on what basis they split the North/South pots.  Norwich, SHA and Wolves are in the southern pot, but by my reckoning are a fair bit further north than Newport.

I wasn't doubting their greatness.............!
It was their being in the Northern group that surprised me but I understand it's something to do with ensuring they play away from their home ground?

By law we have to play Blackburn and/or Sheffield United in a cup match every season.

From what I can remember, whenever there is a North/South divide (the old lower divisions/non league football or cup draws) the basic laws of geography go out of the window. Now Australia compete in the Eurovision Song Contest, I am waiting for them to put a team out in a league like 'English Conference North'.

Or 'National League North' as I have discovered it is called after Googling it!
