Well done the U23s winning 2-1 at Middlesbrough last night That is seven wins on the trot  now and RHM scoring a couple for the second game running . 14 Yellow cards in the game so sounds like it was a hard fought game .If only the first team had as much fight

RHM has 9 in 8 for the u23s now, not much more him or O'Hare can do to earn a place in the senior squad.

I guess that's the one good thing about not going up - those two will finally get proper runs in the team.

RHM scores a 95th equaliser to take it to extra time.
Jeez - a 95th, and he still can't get into the first-team squad?!!
Was it a cricket score?

Well he's not getting a chance in the first team so he's trying his luck at Edgbaston ;-)

Just got back from watching our U12, U13, U14 teams play at the Bournemouth Academy. Many of the Villa players played up a year. We won 2 and lost one. I spoke to a number of the parents who had travelled down and they were very positive about our academy. One chap lives in Northampton and has to take his son three times a week to Bodymore Heath. This half term, he has travelled to Cardiff, Bournemouth and Everton with his son to watch the games. That's a dedicated parent!

I coach an U14 and U16 team and get to watch quite a lot of local academy football, mainly at Yeovil. I was particularly keen to see our U14's who won 5-0.  Interestingly they, like the other two age groups, played 343. Playing out from the back, through the thirds, keeping possession, etc, etc. It was great to watch.  Hopefully some day our first team will have a manager who plays the same way.

Living down South I don't get the chance to see our Youth Teams play, but I would certainty recommended it to any Villa fan.

I think that's the villa engine in practice.

The RHM volley on about 1:25 is lovely, brilliant technique.

In the game the first is the sort of poachers effort that we just don't seem to score many of.  For the second it's hard to tell if it's good movement or terrible defending but he took the chance well.

Aside from that I'd forgotten all about Lyden but he's another youngster that I'd like to see more of, from what I've seen he's got a good engine and picks up a decent number of goals so he could probably do most of the job that Hourihane is doing and hopefully add a bit of energy.

I've always liked Lyden -good first touch- but he's very injury prone.

Away at Ewood park tomorrow.  If we win chance we could still pip them for the title.  Looking forward to seeing the young guns

Just checked the rovers website and entry is free. We are currently 7 points behind them with a game in hand

0-0 after 30 mins. Match can be followed on the club official twitter feed. Don't have a twitter account -just googled it.

Keinan Davis is playing along with RHM and O'Hare.
