2017/18 Squad Numbers
« on: August 02, 2017, 11:33:06 AM »
From Pravda / Peoples Daily

James Chester will wear the No.5 shirt as he follows in the footsteps of the likes of Paul McGrath, Ugo Ehiogu, Martin Laursen and Richard Dunne.

Grealish 10 would be a nice shirt.

I imagine they'll be staying until we receive a satisfactory offer for them.

You'd have to have a large body for that fat f@*k to get stuck in it !
I think his name crops up more  than any other as a stain we want rid of.

As mentioned elsewhere I was under the impression that #19 had been retired for Petrov. Or was that for his other main club?

He's not dead, so really no need to retire it.

It was 'retired' for a season when he was ill, then Bent had it for the 14/15 season.

It's petty, but it annoys me having a midfielder wearing number five, so I'm glad Angela has changed.

28 senior players without including youngsters is too many.

Yes, I agree.
However, I suppose they have to issue shirts to those that we hope will leave - partly, the kidology to prospective buyers; partly because - in extremis - we may have to play them.

Bruce has already said that Hutton is going no where - i.e. not Shef.Weds.

Personally, as much as I love the way he brings the ball forward, I'd love us to see Bree given the season to make the spot his own.
What I don't want to see is him playing so flat in the back four. So far, this pre-season he receives the ball diagonally, which is obviously Bruce's instructions. Live a little, Steve. It won't kill you.
