The sport of golf itself holds a certain intrigue, but I dare not play it lest I become a fucking golfer.

I like watching this Spurs side.

Sigh.

Me too, a club I dislike more than any other, but I like their manager and with the exception of Vertongen I can't find much wrong with the players in this team. Entertaining and good to watch, sigh indeed.

Their net spend is negligible too.  Just goes to show that if you're well run then the gap can be closed.

West Ham look equally bad, they’ve spent a lot of money on some very average players. Be lovely to see them go down and see how they get on with filling their (our) stadium.

This would make me disproportionately happy.  If they weren't based in London they would get as much media coverage as the Albion.

Sad, but doesn't seem that long ago when we thought we were their equals.....

Indeed. The writing was on the wall even when we were both top six sides. Spurs bought Modric for the same price we paid for NRC and Sidwell

It was quite the weekend for football as far as I was concerned, starting off very nicely with the stadium stealers getting a good scudding, live on Sky Sports Mix.

We won and for once there was fulsome praise on the post match thread both for our performance and the quality of the game.

This was followed by Sandwell not only getting beaten, but coming in for almost universal condemnation for their approach to the match with the most vocal criticism coming from their own fans.

In the light of our victory I decided to measure the mood via Twitter but when you search for the word "Villa" you inevitably come across the Rags, so I had the pleasure of seeing that clip of the Zulu's playing Captain Pugwash on the Thames and as Sandwell were stinking Hampshire out, Small Heath managed to shake off the mantle of bogey side to Millwall. Well done lads, well done.

It didn't end there as Zombie FC took over three quarters of Hampden Park on Sunday only to see their side get knocked out of the League Cup by Motherwell despite the presence up front of the son of Dean Windass, the camera cut to the former "every club you can think of" striker often enough to confirm that he still looks like the bloke who rented Harry Cross's bungalow in Brookside and who now plays a copper in daytime dull-a-thon, Doctors.

Of course there is only one result that matters next weekend, but I enjoyed this one immensely.

Albion, Everton and West Ham would be a very welcome, if still unlikely, relegation trio.

Yep and a strong squad as well.  They are going to find it hard to keep hold of some of their top players though, especially Kane.  I'm sure I heard somewhere earlier in the season that he is on £80,000 a week, which although is an incredible amount of money, probably isn't near the amount other top players around the country and abroad are being paid.

For sacking Koeman? They are in the bottom 3, just got bashed for 5 at home and spent a kings ransom in the summer. Looks fair enough to me.
