So the plucky Scots fail to qualify again.

As a kid I used to support all of the home nations. Then I realised at least a couple of them didn't like us. Now, due to parentage I just root for England and the Republic of Ireland.

Would have been pleased for them to get into the play offs, but now they're out, meh.

Wales v Ireland should be a belter.

Documentary on  Bobby Charlton on BBC1.   Started watching live games ie going down the Holte in 1979, so didn’t get to see much of him.  But my god watching this program, he was some player.   He could hit a ball .........

The BBC showing a documentary about a Man United player? Shocked at this development.

I think as Charlton is 80 AND a key player in ‘66 then I can excuse the BBC.  It was an decent watch.

To be fair, the Beeb had a really good one on Chris Coleman on Saturday.

Yeah, it was a good documentary...and he could hit a ball like a traction engine.

Have to admit a soft spot for Bobby as he looks very like my dad.

Bobby Charlton was a great player.  I saw him score a really superb goal against us at Villa Park in 1965.  We won 2-1 IIRC and I think they won the league that year.  He picked the ball up mid-way in his own half and beat half of our team in a mazy dribble and whacked it into the net from just outside the box.  The stadium stood and applauded.  Any old 'uns remember it?

According to the late Denis Howell MP former football league referee, he was a moaning fecker, amongst the worst he ever experienced.  He told me that personally as he was a member of our branch of the Referee's Association.

I watched that thing on Bobby Charlton to see if there was any mention of his ban from receiving cup final tickets.

Ron Atkinson thought he was a snidey git and a miserable sod sniping behind his back when he was managing United. After letting on to Jack Charlton that he wasn't a big fan of his brother Jack told BFR that even he wasn't a big fan of his brother. It went something along the lines of  "my brother was a great footballer but not such a great bloke". I didn't like the way the failed former Preston manager waded into SGT when he was England boss. Football diplomat and dignatory? Not in my opinion, I don't like the sure faced old git. Always looks like he's sucking a lemon.

Cheltenham won again at the weekend. Quite a turnaround in the last month.
