I knew something was bothering you.

Your inability to understand a simple statement doesn't bother you? If you're a grown adult it should do. It might stop you trying, and failing, at sarcasm.

As I said. At least you finally understood what "top 6" means. That certainly bothered you yesterday.

That's a bit unfriendly, Villa75.

England 38 (thirty eight!) games unbeaten in qualifiers.  There haven't been any games against recognised big teams in that run, and most have been against minnows like San Marino, Scotland, Moldova and Wales, so it shows that England are the very definition of flat track bullies.  Qualify easily against non entity teams, but then shit the bed every single time at the finals as soon as they meet anybody decent.

Not. Biting.

Damn. Waste of a post! 😘

Wasn't going to bite Risso, but will that be the minnows Wales who currently reside high in the world rankings (I know they don't mean anything!) and are going into Monday's game having not lost a home qualifier for four years?  Those minnows?

As for England (as I do have a foot in both camps), it remains a mystery how they can get the job done so convincingly in qualifiers (the record really is very good) but struggle in the major competitions.

I watched Adama Traore's Mali against Jonathan Kodjia's Ivory Coast. So you don't have to.
Utterly awful game.

No mystery about it, we’re not good enough and haven’t been for about 25 years.

Probably because, as Matt Sammerface was keen to point out more than once in his commentary, they keep recycling the same managers. It is like competing on Pointless. If you do well but not quite well enough you automatically get another go. I didn't work for Albion in the seventies and eighties (Don, Johnny, Ronnie, Ron, Ronnie, Ron, Johnny, Ron and Ron) and it isn't working for the Dutch now.

Howe, Giles, Allen, Atkinson, Allen, Wylie, Giles, Saunders and Atkinson in case you were wondering. The sequence was totally ruined when they appointed Brian Talbot.

It's frustrating how boring England are to watch, compared with how exciting the U20s and U21s are to watch. What happens to these players when the step up to the full England team, it's like they have all the talent and excitement taken away from them.

I thought all they need is to beat Sweden and job done?

I believe you are correct. They only need to sneak it by seven or eight goals.

There is something about tonights Switzerland 5 Hungary 2 scoreline that makes me think the game and scoreline belongs back in the fifties. Timewarp football.

That's not the ex-Villa Adama. It's Adama Traore who plays for Monaco, though not too often.

..and the Swiss have won 9 out of 9 qualifiers and may still miss out on the World Cup.

I'd agree if tonight's scoreline was Hungary 5 Switzerland 2. The Mighty Magyars of the fifties...

Dont exaggerate a 6-0 win would do with head to head result working in favour of the Dutch. ;D
