Esh Winning 5 (3) v (0) 1 Birtley Town

The Northern League can be split into three types: the big boys who pay good money, one of which will probably win the FA Vase; the rest of the first division and the two or three decent second division sides; and the rest of Div 2, most of which are not much better than good sunday league sides. Esh are in the third camp. Birtley, relegated from Div 2 a year ago, wish they were.

Shaven headed men wandered up and down the touch-line demanding 'shapes' and 'voices'.

There were no pies.

I've said it before and I will say it again. When did Chile stop being pronounced 'chilly' and become 'chill lay'? Or is it just a Clive Tyldesley thing? Also, every time I hear the name Vargas it makes me think of Antonio Fargas AKA 'Huggy Bear' off of Starsky and Hutch.

Also my bet on Germany to win 3-1 isn't looking too clever at the moment.

It's pronounced how it always was. Tyldesley is just a twat.

If 'Vidal' gets subbed relatively early does he turn to the bench and ask 'why Sassoon'?

To turn a phrase on its head, if Germany didn't have good luck, they wouldn't have any luck at all.

How do Chile keep fucking up those chances?

Presumably "Chillay" is the Hispanophone way of pronouncing it and Tyldesley fancies himself as some sort of cultural beacon. Expect Paree, Moskva et al soon. To be followed with "that night in Barthelona".

It's still "Chile", as opposed to "Chilé", in Spanish... so I don't think "Chillay" is the correct pronunciation. Even if it was, he should then be referring to their opponents as "Deutschland", for consistency.

Compare the game time to young English players at the top level and those in Germany. They play significantly more football as individuals and it shows.

The vast amount of money and pressure within the game, at all levels of the Premier League, but especially at the top engenders a short termist approach. Chelsea espouse this more than anybody.

Didn't here or see his commentary, if he's pronouncing it "Chillay" he must have picked it up off someone over exaggerating a Brummie accent. He is one proper pillock is Tyldesley.

Quite impressive that The Rangers got the worst ever result by a British team in their first ever European tie.
