He's on about military-based shenanigans, not football matches.

Enjoyed the Chile Portugal game, pretty decent and glad Chile won.

Linfield scored an 89th minute winner at home against a San Marinese team.

Extra time of FC Cincinnati v Chicago Fire in the US Open Cup was superb. Great saves and FCC had a goal disallowed for a debatable offside.

Now going to pens

FCC knock out Chicago. That's the second MLS team that they've beaten in this cup run

I thought it was a decent game considering the lack of goals. I'm sure Ronaldo sold his team down the river by wanting the glory of scoring the winning penalty. Surely the best should go first.

The best should go last out of the five. More pressure at the end. There have been scientific studies into this.

Regardless of where Ronaldo went, you're not likely to win if three blokes miss.

Those studies worked well for Baggio and Shevchenko didn't they.

It is hard to disagree with your last sentence but I still say put your best taker first, second best second etc.  Although there is a school of thought that the third pen is the crucial one so your best should take that.

There is no logic, study or method in a shootout.

Pick 5 people who have the balls - every footballer can take a penalty in training and score 4/5 - it's pressure whether its 1st or last.

I've said before, some players prefer the pressure of later pens. If it was me i'd want the last one. Not for the glory but i'd back myself to score the pressure one rather than the 1st. When I played league pool and darts back in the day I always played better when the match was on the line.

Germany win the u-21 European Championships.

Which is fairly impressive, given most of their actual u-21 squad are this summer's senior squad, who are playing in the final of the Confederations Cup on Sunday, as they've decided to give the actual senior squad the summer off.

Pretty decent strength in depth there.

Blimey, that's ominous. Just shows that England are light years behind.
