Take over as Scotland manager, please Michael.

He may have taken Northern Ireland to a major tournament but he's not Paul Daniels.

To be fair to Strachan, he completed all his preparations for the World Cup months  ago.
He was spotted in Tesco buying a new 55" wide colour TV.

To be fair Paul Daniel's isn't Paul Daniel's anymore.

I hear people in the South of Ireland are according the same sympathy to the North as they themselves showed to the South over the Henry incident. Bascially the square root of f*ck all.

I suppose to come away with 0-0 away from home would be seen as a decent result but RI were pretty poor in their approach to the game. Hoofing the ball at every opportunity seemed to be the tactic throughout, how very MON.  Ray Houghton called it right in his punditry. “A bit more belief could have seen them better”.

Seen Ireland play a few times recently and they are a poor side in terms of quality.  They are, however, organised, hard to break down and a threat at set pieces.  I can see them winning tomorrow night.

Although this is going to be real heartache for NIR being denied a WC appearance by an incompetent  Official they should think more about their failure to score a goal in 180 minutes of football.

You could say the same about their opponents, who only scored because of a ridiculous mistake.

Sweden were in pot 3, beat France, knocked out Holland and have now knocked out Italy. They deserve their place at the finals.

Italy not in the World Cup, it's unbelievable Jeff. First time since 1958.

What I saw tonight not a great Italian side, having said that unlucky to have been in Spain's group, no idea how they weren't one of the top seeds in the qualifiers.

No complaints from me tonight about one team letting me down on my acca. All four of them let me down! Italy, Georgia, Turkey and Poland and three of them were odds on favs.

These nearly exclusively scoreless playoffs are really whetting the appetite for the World Cup.

If Sweden hadn’t made it the impartiality of the ref would have come in for scrutiny. Two blatant first half penalties denied.
