Villa Records.

Wenger has now won seven to George Ramsays six, we used to hold many records, now they all seem gone.
Anybody know some we still hold that can put a smile on our faces?

Is there any point in saying it wasn't Ramsay's record in the first place?

Are we still the club that has provided the most England international players or have Spuds overtaken us?

All a bit sad this talk of what we used to be. The modern top six were no better than us when I was very young in the 1950's. Overwhelming feeling that despite May 26th 1982, we have massively been left behind in my lifetime. There's always hope!

Most league goals in a season (128 (I think!) in 1930-31).

I think I remember someone saying that at one point we held the attendance records for the premier league, second division & third division - at the same time.

Most losses of the FA Cup - one (I mean the actual cup!).

Villa Park at a venue FA Cup Semi's - do we still the record or has Wembley leap-frogged us yet?

first team to win the FA Cup 7  times, first team to win  the league cup.  First team to win the double.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Preston won the double before us and our 3rd division attendance record was broken before the PL existed.

No and yes, is the saddening answer.

However, I'm gonna chip in with most successful for longest in terms of total trophies won. 73 years, 1905-1978. That'll take some beating. Unless I'm wrong. In which case, I've been drinking.

First ( and only) team to lose both an FA Cup and European Cup.
