Pre-Season Friendlies
« on: May 16, 2017, 01:14:25 PM »
https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/04/06/villa-domestic-friendlies-confirmed

Aston Villa will play Watford in a Graham Taylor memorial game as part of our pre-season programme which is announced today.

The game, to honour our former manager and to contest the Graham Taylor Trophy, will take place on Saturday July 29, with a 3pm kick-off.

Profits from the day will all be donated to charities of his family’s choosing.

Up to around 4,500 tickets will be available for our supporters to join Hornets fans in tribute to the man who led us with enormous distinction.

We can also confirm four other away matches over the month of July.

Steve Bruce’s men have two games in one day on Wednesday July 12 – against Telford United and Kidderminster Harriers, both with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Then it’s on to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday July 15, with a 3pm kick-off.

It’s the return of our annual game at Walsall on Tuesday July 18, with a 7.45pm start.

The club is also in the process of arranging two friendly fixtures abroad, most likely Germany, to take place in the last week of July. These will be confirmed as quickly as possible.

The club will endeavour to show all our pre-season fixtures - both domestic and abroad - LIVE on our social media channels.

Firstly, anyone any idea when tickets will go on sale?

Secondly, will matches be available to watch for those who aren't on Facebook? The Youth Cup games the other day were restricted to FB users only. I see no reason why they can't be hosted on YouTube or, call me crazy, the Villa website.

A return to Bremen - last visited August 2012, would be nice.
I met up with loads of Villans from all over Europe and even a few from Brum !
Nice city and decent beer
Police treated the Villa fans with great respect

Could do with the dates for Germany in fairness before flight prices get silly.

Is there really a need for a three week delay between announcing the fixtures and stating which games are on telly?

We didn't get a bye into the second round of the Rumbelows then? Down with the deadbeats of the bottom half...

We enter in Round One, same as last year.

18th-19th place Hull and Middlesbrough receive a bye to Round Two, 20th place Sunderland, us and all the other Football League clubs enter in Round One.
