Given the Redknapp news, I thought that this thread might be needed a day or so earlier than usual

I hope Mr Bruce does not roll over and let Small Heath tickle his tummy, it will be the biggest mistake he will have ever made.
The players look like they are on the beach already, so they'd better get fired up this week.

1-3 away win. New manager bounce, our season being over, the stupid systems and selections we've seen these past two games, our goal threat being out, they're going to turn us over and stay up to cap off a pretty uninspiring season for us.

Behave yourself. You never predict us to lose.

Redknapp is a better manager but brave Brucey will have us playing for the draw and it might just work. If so, 0-0, obvs.

There is an exception. Its not going to be a Taylor style disaster, but it will be an insipid comfortable win as we're played off our park by that shower. Thinking O'Lear 2004 level of shite.

Any chance we'll have all of the defence who kept so many clean sheets back?

It's not going to be a great game.  Redknap will revert to how Rowett set them up.  Contain and hope for a chance or two.  Hogan has to step up now and the rest have to give him the ammunition.

He'll play up top on his own, Hourihane and Lansbury will be too deep and shackled. Best we can hope for is a draw, but with them coming out at us firing, I think we'll be 2-0 down at half time, rally a bit in the second but huff and puff to no avail.

Season ended when Lloyd Dyer scored the equalizer. You cannot just turn back on a desire to compete that's been so absent in the past two games.

The one thing in Bruce's favour is that he is fully aware of the importance of the game. As shit as we have become we're not as bad as them.  Cut out the mistakes and we'll beat them with better football.

I was really confident and looking forward to this game to provide some small consolation for what has been a poor and frustrating season. Then we lost Kodjia, they got rid of Zola and got 'appy 'arry in, and my confidence is slightly shot. Like him or loath him, Redknob will get them set up and playing better than they did under Zola but hopefully the full house and atmosphere will fire the players to step up a notch or two and I'm still going for a win - 2-1 to us.
