Like every other club at the time we used to sing you'll never walk alone!!!

Sang on all our big occasions in the 70’s early 80’s

Although it didn't go down well in the early eighties when in the lead up to Christmas Bob Warman and his mate with Oscar the dog tried to get the Holte to sing that and some Christmas song.  It didn't help that we were playing Liverpool.

I do remember it being sung during the after match celebrations in Rotterdam.

As well as that weirdly horrible clap-clap truncated version in the 70s.

At least we had a badge of honour in the  70's refusing to sing Que Sera.

We were still singing YNWA in the 90s, sure you can hear us singing it just before Hughes scored in the 94 final.

By then we were only doing it when we played them.

I think that was last time I heard it. Safe to say its Iverpools anthem now and you won't hear villa sing it again.

Definitely.  'We all agree, Aston Villa are magic.  We all agree Birmingham City are tragic'.

There's one amongst many I remember.

It started off as "AVFC Aston Villa are magic"

It was in response to the Ipswich chant that they used to wind us up with:
"IRA Ipswich Republican Army"

I thought it was to counteract the Everton are magic song during the 77 cup final trilogy .

If I remember our response to the Ipswich Republican Army chant was more physical than verbal certainly at Portman Road .

They did sing it once in the Witton the night match when we were both going for the league it ended very abruptly as there was loads of Villa around them

Yeah - I mean the song came from the original Ipswich chant.

No idea if it was to counter anything, I always just thought it was just a song that took off.

I haven't heard that song for at least 35 years. It seemed to be popular for only a season or two.
