Villa v Derby alternative radio coverage
« on: February 22, 2017, 09:54:06 AM »
I can today gleefully announce the identity of my studio guest for this Saturday's coverage of Villa v Derby, it is non other than Broughty Villain of this parish. Negotiations with his agent were fraught (his rider demands were quite frankly ludicrous) but a fee has been agreed and I look forward to our double act between 3-5pm on Mearns FM. You can access this live online at www.mearnsfm.org.uk

There's the small matter of Scotland v Wales being played simultaneously. Given Mearns FM is an Aberdeenshire based community radio station  we're duty bound to make reference to the rugby but chiefly we'll be covering Villa's game with random reminiscences of Villa days from yesteryear. The magnificent H&V match thread will provide match updates (provided I can find a sufficient number of expletive free contributions).

As ever can I have your music requests please? Looking particularly for ska and hiphop but open to most things (except Keane, Snow Patrol and U2).Do get involved if you fancy a laugh, let's face it we're having to make our own fun given the relentless farrago being offered by our beloved club.

Quo banned from the station along with Keane & U2 I'm sorry. Too much insufferable pap doesn't make for good listening figures and I've cornered the market with my in between tracks babble. I'll play Dragging Me Down instead (Inspiral Carpets) CJ.

I'd welcome a spot of Half Man Half Biscuit if possible. 'National Shite Day' would fit the bill if everything goes pear-shaped at VP - or perhaps 'The Light at the End of the Tunnel (is the Light of an Oncoming Train)'.

let's just cut to the chase - anything by The Smiths on a continuous loop and if that fails, ditto for Leonard Cohen
