Reasons to be cheerful
« on: February 21, 2017, 01:28:03 PM »
It's all a bit doom and gloom around here at the moment so I thought we could all do with a bit of collective cheering up.

I'll start - last time we played in Division 3 we won the league, winning 32 of 46 games and were English and European champions within a decade!

That it is the usual overreaction to a contest last night between two evenly matched teams, one of which is suffering from severely low levels of confidence.

Once we gel...

No, we love Aston Villa, one of the most storied, magnificent clubs in football. The team are shite now but we'll always be Aston Villa.

Bayern Munich bumbled around in the regional leagues and weren't selected for the Bundesliga when it was formed. Then some bloke from 1860 Munich smacked Franz Beckenbauer during a youth team game and this convinced him not to sign for his beloved Lions and join Bayern instead.

You never know what's going to make your fortunes turn for the better. We can't always get worse.

You do though Richard.  When I was having a brush with the Grim Reaper a couple of months back all I could think of to live for was getting out of the second division.  Death is only injury time.

They will probably show last season and this season around the clock in Hell just to torment me.

Trevor Francis will be in charge by then so you could be right.  If it is Savage it will be him on Strictly on an everlasting loop.

I'd prefer that Brian to be honest, to the unremitting shite currently on offer. I just know Benty's going to be giving it large in front of L5 on Saturday.
