I stopped reading the opening post when the Championship was referred to as "this disgraceful league" - the kind of typical arrogant comment that's really getting on my tits from Villa fans this season, particularly on here.
When you think about the competitiveness, the size of the crowds, stadia, desire of so many fans of many clubs to travel up and down the country in big numbers week in, week out following their team away from home, quality of football being played by most teams, tv coverage it gets etc etc - the Football League Championship is one of the best leagues in the world.
And the fact that a big wealthy club like us are discovering that it'll take a bit of bloody hard graft to get out of rather than just being able to buy our way out makes it even better in my opinion.
Lack of respect fucking annoys me.

I have been arrogant about it and your post made me re think how I have been coming across. Thanks for putting it that way. I still think Aston Villa should always be in the highest league there is, because I think we are the best. However in future I will try and avoid sneering at the Championship.

As you rightly say, it is a fine and exciting league with clubs that have their own heritage and fans. Good post, I appreciate being corrected.

Sorry to rub it in, but DK could have added how good it is in the Championship to have visiting fans who are proper fans not plastic, arrogant glory hunters that gravitate towards London and the North West.

I would also add from the teams I have watched us play this season that the days of the Championship being a league you could spend or kick your way out of are becoming history.

Can we stop being so snobby about the grammatical and 'emojional' content of his posts and concentrate instead on disagreeing with them on the basis that most of them don't stand up to scrutiny.

I dont really care about his writing style and (this applies to anyone on here) and was measured in my reply as i dont know anything about his education, language barriers, age, learning difficulties etc. I still think he is chatting shit though...

I was being sincere. He genuinely changed my mind with his post. Shrug. It happens.

Good on you, ciggies. I think everyone associated with the club could do with a similar road to Damascus moment if they haven't had one already.

Okay I'm an infrequent poster. But an ST holder.

2 Topics, and I can't see the point of re-posting them in their dedicated threads. ;D

Mr Xia

Now it is clear that he is NOT a Doctor of anything - let alone "Gardening".
CNN in December, but no post on here about it  :-[
Just silence.

Pre-December he claimed that NO PARACHUTE money had been spent ~ yet rolls out more millions...from where?

Just HOW MUCH has MR Xia pumped into us ?

And if he is the Business Wizard he claims to be...how on Earth is he or his Companies, still solvent?
If this is how he conducts himself ?

I'm grateful that he is throwing money at us...long time since we've seen that    :D

BUT...if Mr Xia is the "Wonderkid" the "Economic-Superstar" he wants us to accept...
the saviour of Indian Football..the 'Keynote Speaker' at International Fairs...he says.... when do we see his WISDOM ?
His ACHIEVEMENTS ?
His BUSINESS ACUMEN ?

AT VILLA

Instead of Mr Xia's self-promotion, instead of his ego...how about someone telling him about
the Football League restrictions on spending?
WE - Villa- have to include Lerner's last spends alongside Xia's 'money-down-the-drain'
ego-trip, when the Football League do their sums, come May.
Did anyone explain that to him ?

WE - Villa - are up the creek, without Promotion. A 2nd year in this disgraceful League will see heavy fines and transfer restrictions.
Xia has spent too much WITHOUT knowledge of English Football.
An Egocentric idiot - imo.

BRUCE:

Always had his son in his dressing room. ;D
Now he has no player...a Keane, a Bremner a Keown etc, prepared to head-butt walls and players to enforce 'His Masters Voice'.

Well rewarded players are not going to 'break-a-leg' for Steve, and Steve has no player in his dressing room to suggest that they do...

So it's tactics and 'Game-Plans'  :D

Back to the Dim-Tim philosphy  ;D

Steve is probably here for the Redundancy Payment if all went wrong.

A future England Manager at one time...floundering around in the bottom half of the Championship???

Unable to motivate players and unable to keep us supporters / fans / customers.... in the Stadium.

Infrequent poster, daily reader. OK  :)

These things need to be said, I feel.

I don't think that Bruce ever managed Bremner, Keown or even Keane. He probably barely knows the first two, indeed Bremner was probably playing whilst Bruce was still at school.

I think it was a reference to a certain type of hard man player rather than implying he had actually managed any of those named.

Mental noteto self : Never stray into controversial font . Can cause offence.
Yes, no fucking Comic Sans, even used ironically.
