Huddersfield will surely rest their best players now for the play offs, and Bristol city are safe now so I can see them staying up unfortunately.

The higher in the play off places you finish, the more advantageous the draw.

The top 2 teams play their 2nd leg at home, and the 3rd placed team play the 6th placed team. Huddersfield will keep pushing.

I agree that being at home 2nd leg could be an advantage however I don't think it makes that much difference who you play by that stage of the season. It's a bit of a lottery as the 3rd placed team rarely go up. In fact you could argue that the team to avoid on current form are Fulham, who could well finish 6th.

Unless they don't want to play the 6th placed team which is quite possible given the current occupants of that place are the league's form team, Fulham, who just hammered Huddersfield away 4-1 on Saturday!

I doubt any team in the play-offs is thinking 'I hope we don't have to play x'.

Why not? Fulham are on fire and the others aren't.

When you're winning enough to have made the play-offs in the first place you usually fancy yourselves against any of the others. The idea of being at home in the second leg is probably the more attractive proposition.

With 6 points in the bag from 6 games I am confident of getting 44 from remaining 40 matches however I recognise that that is more than 1 point per game.

We're not being relegated so I wouldn't worry yourself.

A shit goalkeeper and no defensive cover and dropping like a stone, is it possible that League One football is realistic for next season?

I admire your positivity. I think we'll be stuck in the middle.

We've only lost three home games since we've been down here I think. Home points will keep us well clear of the bottom 3.

However constant away defeats will stop any sort of play off bid. We're the standard mid table team I'm afraid.

6pts above relegation and 7pts away from playoffs. Unless anyone really thinks we’re as bad as the likes of Rotherham, Reading, Hull or Ipswich then realistically there’s no need for this overly pessimistic thread to be open. We won’t be getting relegated any time soon...not from the Championship at least!

The table makes sorry reading tonight ...... Smith really has got his work cut out - Small Heath 9th and 5 points above us .... they will be relishing their trip across the City whilst our sorry lot will no doubt be lacking in confidence , unless Smith is some kind of miracle worker .... I appreciate he has only had days with the squad but the games are relentless in this league ....right now it's hard to imagine us  being there or thereabouts in May ..maybe we will limp along until January and somehow turn things around with an influx of Smith type players - getting rid of the dross is gonna take some doing - glass very much half empty at this time
