Relegation Watch
« on: February 15, 2017, 11:25:15 AM »
Current form will suggest that we have to take the threat of relegation seriously. So I think we need 50 points to be absolutely safe and that means 14 from remaining 15 matches. Should be doable but I am not sure....
16.   Aston Villa                    31   8   12   11   30:36   36

17.   Nottingham            32   10   6   16   45:56   36

18.   Wolves                    31   9   8   14   38:42   35

19.   QPR                            31   9   7   15   30:44   34

20.   Bristol City            31   9   5   17   42:46   32

21.   Burton                    31   8   7   16   31:45   31

22.   Wigan                    31   7   8   16   29:38   29

23.   Blackburn                    31   7   8   16   36:49   29

24.   Rotherham            32   4   5   23   30:68   17

Well it looks like 2 places are up for grabs and we might just fill one of them. I really can't believe I've written those words but each and every team below us will battle, scrap and fight for every point (we'll perhaps apart from Wolves), and we are miles off it at the moment.

Last night wasn't even a surprise.

Surely 10 points taking us to 46 would be ok.

If it's truly 14 points required then we are in deep trouble.

What grounds are you looking forward to going to next year if we drop.

I am starting to get a bit concerned but surely we'll see some improvement before the end of the season and we've got a reasonable cushion. The initial new manager bounce under Bruce may be what ends up saving us.

Think we'll be okay this season and possibly the next but by the third season down here we've had it.

Shit I thought this thread was advertising a nice commemorative timepiece - possibly to help us countdown to the inevitable plummet into obscurity

Yes, that's the wage bill fire sale tipping point.

At least we'll be able to see if Agbonlahor has found his level.

I'm not so sure, I think that's akin to dropping an anchor over the Mariana trench.

I have a mate who is a Preston fan and he seemed to think 47 points was the magical figure.

I am sure we will scrape our way to 47 points but it is absolutely shameful that we are looking over our shoulders after spending a gazillion on new players - absolute garbage

Working backwards from last season, this is how many points the side finishing 22nd had: 40, 41, 44, 54, 40, 42, 47, 46, 52, 42, 42, 50 (04/05).
