My take on his approach is that he will set the team up to win against opponents who appear to be there for the taking,  as per last night. Where he believes we face decent oppo he seems to assume a very defensive stance.
I disagree with this approach and it gives a clue to his unsuitability for managing in the top tier.
And,  I just don't like him.

Last season that was us but now I am not sure I agree with your analysis. For example to me we set up in a similar way last night to how we did on Sunday and were on top at the start but allowed them to edge their way into the game. In the second half when that didn’t improve he made changes and we got back on top.

I think blaming everything on the manager when it does not go well allows the players off the hook.

I too do not like Bruce but we are asserting ourselves regardless.  If we have to carry him kicking and screaming into the Premiership I can live with that.

And if we can make him do that attacking the opposition, and pressing the ball, then all the better.

Oh so now we are winning we are doing it not because of  Bruce but when we don't win it's all Bruce's fault?

Not at all.  Steve Bruce got lucky. I voted to give him more time.  I would sooner have a lucky manager winning games that a good one getting us relegated.

How did he get 'lucky'?
Don't you think he deserves some credit for 1 defeat in 12?

Preston were badly hit by injuries and didn't pose much threat going forward, I only watched it on replay and after reading glowing reports looked forward to watching a much improved performance.
I was left a little underwhelmed, true the defence looks solid with Terry settling in and individually some players improved on their B'ham performance (not hard) but still see the midfield underperforming and too much pressure coming on a nineteen year old. Think we look more solid with Jedinak in the side he is rarely beaten in the air.

Meant to say in the last post that Bruce will struggle in the premiership.

If Bruce keeps learning the game, one day he'll have as much football knowledge as a poster on H&V

Not really. Davis wasn't even being considered for the bench until a striker crisis earlier in the season. We were playing like shit and the formations were all over the shop.

Credit where it is due on results but let's not pretend it was something he had planned all along because that is patently bollocks.

If he thought we would get the best out of the midfield playing a target man then he would have purchased one.

Clampy I learned long ago that you love having a pop at me.  My personal opinion is that Steve Bruce has got lucky.  He is lucky to have young players like Green, RHM, Davis, O'Hare and Grealish to call on.  My opinion is based on having personally seen us win the FA Cup, the 3rd Division Championship, the First Division Championship, the European Cup and the beating of PNE last night.  In person.  In the flesh.  Be as speechless and flabbergasted as you like.  Frankly my dears, I don't give a damn.
