Minimum requirement in run up to Christmas should be in or very near to top 6 (within a couple of points).

He can have no complaints if he binned for not being.

We're already in the top 6. I don't really seeing us having a disastrous run like we did last year, we're more solid at the back and in the final third.

We really need to be winning away games and not just against relegation candidates.

Just playing for a point at SHA next week is just not going to be good enough for top 2.

The next three games might be tough. The noses and Preston away and then at home to Sheffield Wednesday, which with our luck will coincide with them having that 'new manager bounce'.

We're heading in the right direction and the next aim should be to break into the top two. Happy with the way it's going overall though, fair play Brucey.

Didn’t see the game at all, but sounds like an improvement and an excellent result. Now we’re in the top 6 we need to stay there and push for the automatic places.

Well done Steve Bruce, you have certainly steadied the ship which last year we were conceding late goals to cost us games before you arrived. We would have Lost to Fulham if Roberto was still in charge yesterday, so we'll done for sticking to your guns & ignoring a lot of the media & keyboard warriors

No but when fans are actually whinging about the margin of goals we are winning games. I have resigned myself to the fact that there are some that will never give him any credit. Its very irritating

It's just a couple of regulars from here, not the mass ranks.

I hope we build on the improving points gathering.  I voted to give Bruce a little bit more time and he has scrambled effectively.  I still think he was the wrong choice of manager but, like others, after McLeish, Lambert, Sherwood, Garde, Black, K Mac and RDM I was suffering from moaning about managers fatigue and decided to let Bruce do whatever he was going to do.  I now would like to see Bruce improve as the team improves.  Perhaps he is better than the thud and blunder escapee from the Championship reputation that goes before him. Perhaps there is a good Premiership manager in Steve Bruce.  To find out would be nice.

Bruce has been constantly saying how much the team need to dig in and work hard as it's the norm in this division no matter who the opposition. Yesterday he got his wish, for the first time the whole team really fought for the whole 90 minutes. What I liked was each and every player took responsibility instead of waiting for somebody else to provide the magic. There was a wonderful collective spirit even though we didn't create that many real chances, the intention was there.
