I just want someone to make it resemble entertainment.

Which means not Allardyce or Moyes.

The myth of Allerdyce's track record drives me mad, he's painfully average: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Allardyce#As_a_manager

From that if you look at the last 10 years his win record is 36% - how does that make him the safe pair of hands that's guaranteed to improve us that some seem to think?

A guaranteed safe pair of hands? If only...

Someone out of work that I've not seen mentioned - Paolo Sousa.

Did well at Swansea, less well at Leicester (but only had nine matches under Mandaric).

Since then has won league titles in Israel and Switzerland and two years of being pretty decent at Fiorentina.

No real blips apart from that nine match spell at Leicester seven years ago.

Viola fans hated his style of football, SB esque.

I'll quite happily bow to your wisdom on the matter, but I'd bet that what a Fiorentina fan would consider poor style of football might not be be the same as a Villa fan who has endured the last six years.

I mean, there are even Arsenal fans out there who complain that they don't play good football anymore.

Quite a lot of them (+ complainers) if Arsenal Fan TV is anything to go by.

I've been pointing this out for a few days.

We need to be aiming higher than this.

I reckon Alardyce is already lined up to replace him
just a hunch listening to him on sky the other night

it's not who i want but it would be an easy/lazy change to make
I thought that too

What did Allardyce say?

he wasn't interested In Palace (because he has something else lined up)

to soon meaning when the Villa job comes it will be just the right time

general demeaner talking about what he would/would not do in management again

I might be reading it all wrong but if there's is a change i think it will be like the Palace change,
one out one in the next Day because it's all been sorted

I hope I'm wrong,
I just want to be able to go to a match with at least some hope of seeing decent football to get a smidgen excited about which isn't happening now and won't with Sam either

Allardyce would almost certainly be better, but for God's sake it would be nice if we tried something different. Or is Tony Xia the first international owner who's really keen on the more eye-bleedingly dull traditions of English football?
I think Boro, Watford, Huddersfield, Fulham, Sheff Wed, Leeds and Wolves all tried something different and it worked out fine them so far. I still think if we're left searching for another manager it will be a typical dull and stale appointment.

I'm staggered and appalled that Mr Potato Head is still with us. Get your finger out Tony and do the right thing.

How many tries did those clubs have before hitting on the right man? That is not to say we shouldn't try just that clubs like Leeds and Wolves, for instance, have had even more mishaps than us.

I agree with all of this John.

In my opinion, Allardyce is dreadful. Another Bruce. I don't want either associated with our club. They both play dreary, eye bleeding football. Fucking dinosaurs. Add Moyes to that list, too.

I'd rather give the job to Ian Taylor. Lord only knows if he has his coaching badges. Though no doubt the dinosaur brigade do, and look at how unsuccessful and boring they are.

We're far bigger than any of them too. They've all been playing second division, or lower, football for years now. There's no focus because nobody really gives a shit. Other than perhaps Leeds which has been such a basket case of course.

Which means not Allardyce or Moyes.

Can you imagine going to a Villa game, thinking that it might be enjoyable?

That's some seriously mad radical shit.

The one thing I know we haven't tried is getting in an up-to-date, adventurous manager and given them money + a pre-season. All of the bogball managers have had time to prepare and transfer funds.
