I've said it before, sometimes draws are more like defeats and that's how you have to think if you want to go up. 'Unbeaten' sounds all well and good, but you get more points for winning one and losing one than for drawing two. He may have been unlucky tonight (that Hogan block has convinced me that we've actually been hexed), but in most of his other games the stodgy, riskless football has been his fault, and has led to the obvious result - Championship Nowheresville, footballing purgatory.

11 months ago today he took over. We were 19th with 10 points from 11 games. We're currently 18th with 7 points from 7, so in 11 months he's made shit all difference.

As I said on the post match  thread we were unlucky tonight but that's not enough to save Bruce.  I thought if there is one thing he could have done straight after Adama was sent off was to remove Barny and replace him with Adomah but as usual he did not react well.

I'm getting sick of his digs about criticism, regardless of whether he's aiming it at fans or media. 2 wins in the last 13 league games, 1 league win this season, we're meant to be challenging at the top of the table and look less capable of doing it now than when you arrived  6, 9, 10, 11 months ago. How dare anyone not be happy that you're doing an awful job and failing spectacularly. He's started to get on my tits now.

And why dont the media in the interviews given him a hard time based on this record. Its awful but he gets an easy ride

Staggering. If only a journalist was allowed to put that to him in a civilised way. They'd be slaughtered by the rest of the football media and the managerati - "how can you say that to such a solid football man?!" etc etc.

He has no excuses.

Yes but your taking seven results from the start of this season.  You can't condense 11 months into seven games.  This season is still early, we might still turn it around.  On the whole we have been better under Bruce than under RDM.  The defence is much better for a start and in the second half of last season we did go on an impressive run which had us with an out side bet of the play-offs.  The time to judged him is here, but its still early to sack him.  We won't get anyone better in this early in the season.

We've won one match. One.

This is The Championship and we're being outplayed by Brentford and after an hour, can't find a way past 10 man Boro.

Yeah, Bruce is doing a stand up job.

2 wins in last 13, 16 wins in 42, 42 league games 59 points, we're getting worse. And his full 11 months record isn't one of a side that's getting promoted. It's of a side that will finish around 10/11th.

I get that you like him, that's fair enough but the bold bit just isn't true.

last season after 7 games we had 7 points had scored 8 and conceded 8.  This season we has 7 points have scored 7 and conceded 9 so we're marginally worse than we were this time last season.  You talk about not condensing 11 months into 7 games but then you make the comparison to rdm and you can only judge them on a fair scale of how they started their respective seasons.

As for we won't get anyone better; right now we'd be hard pressed to get anyone worse.

Bruce has created a team in his own image.  Unfortunately he's an overpaid dense bulky stodgy immobile pudding of a man.

With a nose that could insulate an Alpine principality, but sadly has no cutting edge.

When will the media pick up on our plight??

Surely the local media can at least start quoting some factual stats at him pre and post game to counter his unadulterated bullshit. Steve is part of the British punditocracy so along with the likes of Pardew will always get a much softer ride than say Remi Garde or Frank De Boer. The Sky commentator during the Bristol game kept banging on about Steve not having much money to spend.

Not that it should need the local media mind, our Tom Fox esque CEO clearly hasn't a clue either.

The thing is, I just cannot see us getting any better under him.  I just think it will be like last season where the odd scrappy, stuttering wins here and there are interspersed with genuinely terrible losses as we limp towards mid table obscurity.

If there were any signs that he might be capable of turning things around then I would be more than willing to give him more time, but I just can't see it and we haven't got too much time available.
